He most certainly isn't - there is a good reason why WHU prefered Joe Hart (who is bang average imo) to him - he costs us our CL place, he made at least 6 errors that led to shots on target in the handful of games in the league he played last season; I don't think he is any better than Karius - who was significantly better for us in the league for 4/5 months before the CL final

I like Adrian, he seems sound, but if Ali didn't play tonight we would of conceded a couple and then things get nervy. He's just a fantastically solid keeper regarding the basics.

He is so good that opposing strikers snatch at chances because they don't believe they will score. His positioning especially is out of this world. He makes difficult things look easy.

Catches shots most keepers just parry. Dominant in the air. Amazing distribution. One of the best keepers I've ever seen and he's ours.

I think I saw an article a while back which I think was most accurate: Where is not the no. 1 in the world in a given aspect of goalkeeping, he is the no. 2 or 3 or so. In every department he's right there. He's even one of the fastest players in the squad.

Every time they got through our defence I was expecting the net to ripple for a consolation goal but Alisson was a brick wall. Such strong hands and wrists to stop the ball when often it curls into goal off the keepers gloves.

His positioning and anticipation is exceptional.Even when the ball is in the other half he appears well out of his area to collect a long clearance and set us forward again. An all round keeper if ever there was one.
