I'm sure I'm not alone in wanting Real Madrid in the next round. It wouldn't make up for the debacle in May, but going over there after stuffing them at Anfield (without VVD) and smashing them again to knock them out would give me a lovely feeling of slight revenge.
If Salah could skin Ramos 3 times for a hat-trick and somehow then injure him as well - accidentally of course - then it'd be even sweeter.
As it stands I don't fear anyone waiting in the next round, I have a sneaky feeling we'll draw Dortmund, and that'd be one hell of a tie and potentially the trickiest of the lot but there's nobody there that puts any fear into me.
Juve are most peoples pick, yet even United can beat them in their own ground with arguably the worst team they've had since the 80s. Barca don't look anywhere near the force they've been before and aren't really that great in Europe anyway. Atletico, meh - just a case of breaking them down - nothing to worry about over two legs. Bayern, finished. So it genuinely is only Dortmund I hope we avoid as I'd rate that as a 50/50 tie given the history there and the fact they're great going forward and we'll be missing VVD (possibly Gomez too if he doesn't come back quick enough)
I'll jump for joy if we get Madrid, I'd have absolutely no worries we wouldn't steamroll through them now and dumping them out on their own turf would be hilarious.
Whoever we get, the CL is wide open for someone to go grab it, I can't think of many seasons it's been so hard to see a definite favourite as all the big teams have issues, even if we pull PSG again later down the line I don't think the team will have any fears of them and getting City again wouldn't be as frightening as it would be for foreign teams as we've shown we can dispatch them with ease many times. There's not one stand out team for me, everyone barring United and Porto could win it, and I wouldn't be at all surprised to see United fluke it and get Porto so at least one of the completely dogshit sides would get through to another round, which of course would be United to save the odious ones job for another month (assuming he's still there after Sunday)
