I understand people trying to stand by Karius but this isn't a player who has been excellent all season and then just had a one-off poor game. Karius over his career at our club has been below average and made multiple individual errors and looked fairly shakey. This isn't some knee-jerk assessment of the guy.

Its the same for Lovren, Moreno and to a lesser extend Mignolet.




BTW I thought Wijnaldum looks great tonight too. Someone I doubted but his ball retention was one of the best on the pitch in tight situations. Sadly we just were lacking that oulet up-top for parts of the game.

The worst thing for Karius is how he will feel himself. Deep down the players will all blame him for the loss but he’s lucky he has a manager as supportive as Klopp to try to build him back up again. This would ruin 99% of players.

Karius did not mean for this night to happen the way it did and actually made some very good saves. He’s a Liverpool player and we need to suppprt him. We have done phenomenal to get this far and every player tonight (especially the back 4) were excellent.

Dear god where do you begin. Salah's enforced substitution was a huge morale blow for us and gave Real a lift. The fear factor seem to leave Real once Salah was taken out of the equation. Ramos deserves punishing for what he did to Salah. How on earth do you legislate for what Karius did for the first goal. Inexplicable. We showed commendable spirit to level so quickly. Bale scores a fabulous volley. Mane hits the post which on another night could have been 2-2.
Karius' confidence was shot and might explain how he let Bale's second goal in. It's basic goalkeeping though and he should save it. I will be amazed if Karius plays for Liverpool again. He mucked up twice in the most prestigious club game in Europe.

Tough for Klopp losing another final. I hope he gets to break the hoodoo with us. We have made progress this season no doubt about that. This is tough to take given Salah's removal from the game and Karius double screw up.

Was a great season, people will be pissed off with Karius for his mistakes. But I think the game was lost when Salah went off really. It just gave Madrid all the confidence in the world. With everything that went on tonight, you just felt that perhaps this wasn't meant to be.

What a shame. I think we'll probably need a new keeper this summer, not because I think Karius is shit for making these two mistakes, but honestly I don't think he's going to recover from such high profile blunders.
