The irony in your reply. "I'm alright Jack" as long as I can afford to go, fuck the extra allocation.

I qualify and can't afford to go myself, so cut the Tory nonsense. An extra 20-30 quid is fuck all in the grand scheme of things, given the trip will cost quite a few hundred.

Your response to my post was unwarranted but continue on thinking about yourself and not giving a fuck about other supporters who can now attend because of the large allocation, albeit at an over inflated  price.

Anyone who pays the 73 quid is part of the problem, using your "logic". Don't bother your arse going if you have such a big issue with it.

It's cuntish from Roma, but if it facilitates more in the ground, then that's something at least. Not forgetting it's a champions league semi final so I've no idea what price you were expecting or deemed reasonable.

Does it being £73 facilitate more in the ground? Surely they aren't correlated.

Any one got any more info on Chelsea’s visit there this season. I’ve only seen one news report of limited trouble so kinda hoping it’s not quite as moody as in previous years.

Us and chelsea don't have the same history with Roma, we beat them in 01 and we beat them in 84, they hate us.

There are some goodn's.

My pride and joy of the 84/85 season was a massive Roma flag that my Brother had swapped his avarage Liverpool flag for with one of their fans at the 84 final.

That's something else that the 50 50 era has spoiled.  The only way to get a Roma flag, scarf back then was to swap as a proper souveneer as opposed to the bollocks they sell outside the ground now.

Loved that flag.  He brought me back a Juve Platini top back in 85.  I wore it every day for about a month, despite me being a little kid and the top being xxl.
Also, in the '77 final there were Roma fans in our end supporting us - certainly no bother then. Obviously before the '84 final and the lingering resentment that has fostered since - but, I think in '77, as Roma were seen as the 'workers' club (with Lazio the fascists), they felt an affinity with Liverpool also being solid working-class - plus, there may have been a certain degree of anti-German feeling around too. Shame how 'hooliganism' in Italy appears to be still around - but, hope this trip goes off safely for everyone.

£73 is mad. Footy isn't about how much you spend but I've done all aways this season apart from Maribor so with Rome will be 5 from 6.
If each ticket is £30 more than the standard every time, then that's £150 I've spent for f**k all other than being a mug. It all adds up.

It's also a mad sum of money to pay to watch some lads kick a ball about. My non-footy work colleagues always take the mick about me paying £42 for a ticket which I can in no way justify as being sane or normal! Not looking forward to the £73 conversation next week regardless of if I can afford it or not.

What with that and the £120 visa, I could be spending all of this on a mini break somewhere - thankfully got the visa back this time. (Nice one United - honestly think you helped shame LFC into it).

Can honestly say I'm not looking forward to this one. Might just get a ticket on the back row and stay as far away from the main areas as possible.

Also suspect we will be kept in for a LONG time - SportsOptions flights back sort of hint at it with the times.

I hope SportsOptions have the sense to go EARLY and staggered a bit and we don't all arrive on 20 day tripper coaches at once. Also hope their pick up point has a police presence and consider a police escort in. (I remember I used Thomas Cook for Ludogorets and we had that from the hotel so it does happen).

Deliberately gone with them to avoid getting into and out of the ground on my own - you'd hope they have got this figured.

Moscow was sound. The local police made a point of it being very safe.
Sevilla was on the verge of chaos without any reason what so ever - evidently under orders.

The fans you can generally avoid and most are just going the game to see their fave team and you'd hope the segregation is there.
I just don't like the idea of 5000 of us and the Italian police - I can already see it now that they're going to have briefings on their orders as well.

I hope the club have learnt as well and we see a large number of our stewards again both inside and out. Didn't see a single one in Sevilla.

To those going. Go early. Get in safe. Keep it calm. Watch us get into the final.

Arsenal are subsidising ticket prices for their semi with Atleti

https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/arsenal-to-subsidise-away-tickets-for-europa-league-semifinal-after-atletico-madrid-demand-79-a3818801.html

Meanwhile at Liverpool..............silence

Be nice if the owners could’ve used their much touted ‘Boston’ connection with the Roma owners to do something on prices.

Haven't booked any travel or accomodation yet so not sure whether to chance it in Monday's sale. But you have to provide travel details with the booking. Vicious circle as don't want to lose out on air fares if I don't get a ticket on Monday
I’d wait till Monday me personally as the flights and accomodation can’t get any higher I’d have though.
No one you know not going? There’ll be loads selling on in order to gain the credit who are guaranteed tkmorrow

Club have until 1pm today before tickets go on sale to get this right and avoid another ticketing PR disaster

£73 is an absolute piss-take for any match; final, semi whatever.

Hopefully with the ticket walkout last year and Arsenal subsidy they will see sense

And Clubs will just charge more and more if they know club will subsidies the cost, pressure needs to be put on UEFA to cap away prices.

I don’t want subsidised tickets, you do that and clubs will just continue this rancid practice because they know it doesn’t matter coz LFC will foot the bill. What happens next time? Do they do it again?

Them lobbying for a resolution is a million times better than them footing the bill.

Agreed, but that’s not going to happen before this fixture. So subsidy now and long term solution sought over the summer.

What

It's also on the government advice for previous games:

Stadium – how to get there

It is strongly recommended that all fans take one of the free official shuttle buses to the Olympic stadium. This service will start at approximately 4pm and continue until required. To use the shuttle bus:

    take Metro Line A to Flaminio/Piazza del Popolo;
take the entrance to Villa Borghese through the archway onto Viale Washington, then onto Viale F. La Guardia to reach Piazzale delle Canestre, from where the shuttle buses will depart

Combined Metro and bus/tram tickets can be purchased from most tobacconists, bars, or vending machines at metro stations and major bus stops and cost €1.50 each, lasting 100 minutes (includes one metro journey only).
It is strongly recommended that fans should use the shuttle buses and not make their own way to the stadium. Fans should avoid the area south of the Olympic stadium, in particular Ponte Duca D’Aosta, where Rome fans normally gather before the match.

British fans will enter the stadium via Sectors 50-51-52 of the Distinti North West part of the stadium. There will be ticket checks and body searches at the entrance to the turnstiles. To avoid a last minute bottleneck you should get to the stadium early. Gates open at 5.30pm (local time).

I think you're right here, but obviously the problem is UEFA don't give a shit so lobbying falls of deaf ears- the price of the final tickets tells you that.

This does seem like a problem going forward though, more and more clubs seem to look at the English and go oh they've got loads of money, lets fleece them. Didn't some scandi club do that to Utd a year or so ago, and were completely open about just wanting to rip the away fans off for as much money as possible?

The one thing I can think of is a tit-for-tat type situation where we have some very expensive, but heavily discounted for members, tickets. We can then essentially hold this over another club and say fine, you charge our away fans £30 more than they should be, we'll just go ahead and do the same to yours, and use the extra cash to pay for their subsidy. See how long they carry on when it turns out they're just getting their own fans to pay for our ticket price hikes.

LFC have just got £5 million add on for Sterling winning the league with city! Wouldn't be hard to do us all a favour on this but they won't because they know we go regardless.

It would cost LFC £100,000 to drop our ticket price to £53

100k that's it!!

What a PR exercise for the club it would be too but they won't do it. It beggars belief it really does.

they won’t do it as every European club will jack up prices knowing full well the allocation will sell out and lfc will subside the cost

they won’t do it as every European club will jack up prices knowing full well the allocation will sell out and lfc will subside the cost

In essence yes. Basically what SOS put out needs to happen. We (clubs, fans, groups) needs to lobby for caps on prices. Or exploitation will go on. Difficult to ask ourselves who would govern it - obvious answer is UEFA - but they're happily selling final tickets for 400 euro already. So it's going to be a big old task to get something agreed and functioning.

Short term ie for the 1 remaining euro away this season, excluding the final, personally I think the club should have subsidised and also stated that they will be attempting to tack ticket pricing & exploitation in Europe over the coming months.

If someone is in rome the first of may, it's bank holiday and like every year there is in "piazza del popolo" the biggest free festival in Italy. Fatboy slim will be on stage

I take it FBS will be doing 'Weapon of choice'

How apt that would be.

So fucking what. Pay it, and then argue the case with UEFA moving forward. The club should be taking the hit on the supporters behalf.

Twice our club have let us get fucked over this year when other clubs have looked after their supporters. But they wrote a letter to UEFA regading porto  ::)

Heard no mention of a drinking ban this time so assume it's not happening.

I think the drinks ban will be announced the day before the game
