I hope he smashes it over there. Ajax are an enormous club and he'll be under the spot light immediately.

I always expect Ajax to have some of the best youngsters (Dutch at least) around, is that still the case ?

I'm not an expert on Dutch football but I think that Hato is very highly rated and is expected to draw attention from other Clubs. Ajax are having a really bad season, down in 5th which is almost unheard of for them. I'm sure their Academy is still producing decent players and if Pep goes there and does well, it'll be a great way to start his Managerial career.
I’ve plenty links to the clubs playing and backroom staff as many on here know thank you very much. Fair enough, I admire your optimism. But you’re absolute ostriches if you think this squad, even with 2 or 3 new, “cut price” players with potential get us anywhere close

I’ll be watching Pep’s career closely to see how he gets on. He’s obviously incredibly well thought of here, but it’s a different kettle of fish managing middle of the road players and being in the top seat yourself. I hope he does brilliantly. The grief he got on social media last season remains one of the most embarrassing periods for our online fan base.

A litmus test for Pep. He has the technical tools to make it, the questions that needs to be answered are the man-management and motivation day in and day out. Ajax are a great team with a fantastic academy that would serve well his philosophy of promoting young talent. I hope he's given sufficient time, and that he does well there.

Will be interesting to see how he does if he gets it. It doesn't look like they have much to work with in that first team at all. Not seen loads of them but it feels like the best youngster they have right now would be one of the weaker ones in Ajax sides gone by. PSV and Feyenoord will probably be above them the next couple of years again. Sounds like they could do with what Pep brings to a side ... intensity.

Would be great to establish good relations with Ajax if they have any good players on the books. I'm sure we have a few decent players we can offer them if circumstances arise also.

Better move for him than Ajax IMO if his career is going to be about developing younger players. Lots more pressure at Ajax which would be a step up from Salzburg in a first proper managerial role, bar his short stint in Holland's 2nd division.

Could be the making of him a well run club but out of the spotlight.

He's undoubtedly a good coach, but it felt as though he started to believe his own hype with that 'look how great I am/we are' book. No need to do that while you're still here and the opposite to the mentality of the understated old bootroom (and Jurgen himself) which didn't want to give away all our secrets and blueprint.  Pride comes before a fall.

Yeah the optics were a bit crude but I assume he got the green light from Klopp to release it.

The book release coincided with a big drop off from the team and it led to some pretty hysterical and over the top reactions and conclusions.

Strange club to work for. Pretty much have to win the League whilst continually losing your best players to Leipzig and others.

Hope it works out for him.

??? I'd say it's perfect for him as a first step. He's a great developer of talent - which Salzburg have in abundance - but doesn't have much experience being the main person in charge. The expectations are reasonable, and he'll have an opportunity to play European football.

He doesn't get the chance to build a team or forge an identity of his own though. Red Bull has its clubs set up to play the Red Bull way and the team pretty much gets gutted every season. Compare that to Xabi at Leverkusen or Amorim at Sporting.

He should go there and do well as their coaches usually do. It doesn't answer many questions about his ability though.

but it’s Austria, if he’s serious about making it as a head coach, and is good enough, he won’t be there long. All he needs is to prove himself then get the next move. If he’s any good, he won’t be there for more than a couple years.

I've a lot of time for Lijnders, he's been a big part of our success in recent times. And he really bought into the whole ethos of the club and knew how to use it to good effect. I'm sure he'll does well at Ajax, if he's given what he needs there to succeed.

Yeah they seem to be a good stepping stone to the Bundelsiga and beyond for some. For a coach who's previous experience is a failed stint in the second division of Netherlands and has no playing career connections to fall on it's a pretty good place to get a go at. Maybe he fails but could do that anywhere
