Why shouldn't he be in the squad Sunday if he has passed the return to play protocol by then?

Read Welshred's post rather than speculating.

But some of my post is speculation on what I've seen from live footage and a highlight video ;D I have nowhere near the full information.

He may well play Tuesday but that will be because the club have assessed him and his scoring on certain tests will be equal to his baseline, I'd be surprised if he does though just from looking at the video evidence of him immediately after the collision.

Cheers - good post

If Mo is feeling fine, that's great news. One question though, is it possible to be knocked out cold like Mo was and not suffer a concussion? Mo looked out of it for a while.

On the subject of Salah, can anyone remember how long Terry was out for when he got sparked out in that league cup final against Arsenal in 2007?

Terry’s was the worst knock out I’ve seen in a football match, genuinely thought he might be dead although that’s probably because I never watch boxing so I’m not used to it.

Is it possible to get whiplash from such an incident? When they stretchered him off it seemed like they were worried about a neck injury. I'm not a doctor so I haven't a clue what I'm talking about

Salah already gave it all. If he or our staff decided it would be a risk to his health playing the final few games, so be it.

I don't want anyone to get hurt because just because we are chasing trophies.

You always need to rule out a cervical spine injury initially for a head injury but the fact he wasn't full immobilised one the stretcher off the pitch is a good sign.

The team's reaction to Salah's injury is yet another reason I'm proud to be a long-time LFC supporter. The player's well-being always has to come first. It's a sharp contrast to Spurs' reaction to Vertonghen's knock on Tuesday. Even if you accept the post match statement by the club that Vertonghen had a nose injury rather than concussion, suspected concussions have to treated with extreme caution and that means subbing the player so that in-depth surveillance can be conducted. We're long past the age when 'How many fingers am I holding up?' was enough.

I got concussed in a motorbike crash years ago, headbutted the road at 40mph, the impact was hard enough to deform my crash helmet. I didn't lose conciousness, I distinctly remember sliding down the road and seeing sparks coming off my bike as it slid next to me. I rode 20 miles to get back home.

My dad broke his metartarsal two decades ago in a motorbike crash, then would've ridden home had the bike allowed it and insisted he didn't need to go to the hospital, so that's not an argument I'm afraid  :P

Having said that, unless there's some specific second-impact concern I think he's got a very good chance to be ready for Sunday.

Imagine if both Shaqiri and Origi get goals on Tuesday and we end up going through. That would really show our strength in depth compared to last season. Both players have had a crucial impact throughout the season and, although they've not played every game this season, their contribution at crucial moments wont be forgotten if we win the league. I'm thinking Shaqiri against United, Origi against Everton and last night etc. We're truly a squad and not just an 11.
if I came home to allison in bed with my wife I'd ask him to phone Virgil to see if he wanted to pop round too.

Don't you think these players have earned their right to try and get back into this tie? Especially some of the guys who've had to take a back seat. Can't believe some people are questioning this especially as people go on about us not winning trophies. Yet all of a sudden some are suggesting we play our youth team or somehow don't try too hard. Get an early goal and who knows how they will affect a team who have struggled away from home before.
