Just worried about which side he'll choose to ply for now.

Doubt it'll stop him coming to Aus.

That'll depend on whatever (if any) charges are brought against him. Don't think this is all that simple to walk away from.

Yes it's looking a little bit serious.

Is ABH a lesser charge than GBH? Remember reading up in this with Gerrard but have forgotten it all!

Is ABH a lesser charge than GBH?

Yes.

ABH carries a maximum penalty of five years' imprisonment and/or an unlimited fine not exceeding the statutory maximum. For a first offence, a fine and or community order may be imposed.

GBH can carry a much harsher sentence. Section 20 GBH is for things like stabbings. Section 18 GBH is for very serious assaults.

Eurgh. Ballance and Vince? Mason Crane? Heard he's taken 16 wickets for Hampshire this summer. I'd rather take the Lancashire leggie!

No Leach  ::) Not certain he's needed but deserves a chance at some point. Glad to see Overton in though. He could be a great weapon down there. Yes I do support Somerset  :-X

Probably looking at a team of Cook, Stoneman, Root, Bairstow, Malan, Stokes, Ali, Woakes, Broad, Anderson and Ball/Crane then. Aussies will be licking their chops when it's their turn to bowl.

I'd love to know what Vince has to do to get binned. He's looked well out of his depth at test level and has averaged 33 in 4 day cricket this summer, it's absolutely ridiculous that he's in the squad.

Disappointed with that squad. Would have liked to have seen Hales, Buttler, Rashid and Hameed.

Also is Wood fit?

Don't see any logic in not having Hales. He's been in outstanding form all summer in all forms of the game - and averages more than Vince and Malan in the middle order. It also adds another batsman who can pummel a team and take the game away from them - if Stokes is unable to play in part of the tour then Hales surely should be next on the rung...

In actual cricket news, we've win the toss and are having a bowl. Roy and Billings come into the side, as does Ball for Willey. Make your own punchline for that one.

Couple of early wickets for England.

Woakes removes Gayle and Hope. Gayle edged to Root and Hope nicked one and reviewed it for some reason.

EDIT: Another one for Woakes. This time Samuels. 33/3 off 6.1 - No reviews left. Looked high. Umpires call though anyway clipping the bails.

Windies on for a hefty score here. Hundred for Lewis and Holder seems to consistently deliver runs lower down the order on a DJ Sammy style.

300 up for Windies.

Lewis is on 165 and counting. Might get 200.

EDIT: 174 now. 5 overs to go and has the strike.

Anyone who can hit that well should be considered for all formats of the game.  May take some refinements.  Average of 30 in FC Cricket in the windies.

Glory, my friend. Everlasting glory. Not the buzz that comes from a 10-over innings and lasts for half an hour after the match. But the glory that comes from being permanently etched in the public's memory and is capable of being tested and measured against Grace and Headley, Bradman and Lara, Warne and Marshall, Gavaskar and Sachin - as well as the players you actually play against on the day.

Glory doesn't pay for mansions and flashy cars and nor does being employed by the WICB only.

Great finish in store here but likely to be ruined by impending rain. England about 7 runs behind on D/L at the moment. Hav they updated things in recent years to reflect the higher run rates especially when chasing down a score in the last 20 overs or so?

They should carry on in the rain. I remember a 1977 one dayer at the oval where they played through torrential rain.

England batting lineup is so good, but Windies were poor with the ball especially at the start. Shout out to Moeen Ali, great run of form leading up to the ashes.

4th and final ODI against Windies due to start at 13:15 at The Rose Bowl. Bit delayed due to rain.

Curran on debut is replacing Woakes who didn't recover from the previous match.

West Indies have made two changes: Kyle Hope for Evin Lewis and Sunil Ambris, on debut, replaces Jason Holder.

England won the toss and will field first.
