If I have nothing and someone offers me £20m, then yeah I'd consider it. But if I already have £20m, why the hell would I need another £20m? What on Earth do these people need this kind of money for? What are they spending it on?

I realise people in Gerrards position operate differently to the rest of us, but there comes a point where it's just numbers on a balance sheet.

This is a horrible decision from Gerrard, and only marginally less grim than going around about town with Irish gangsters.

Also do find it a tad bit funny that there was limited similar derision (at least not quite as universal or scathing) when Rafa chose to sell out and go to work in China in 2019. I expect Gerrard's managerial experience in Saudi to be similarly mediocre.

The tax rate for foreigners in Saudi Arabia is zero? So he'll be taking home £20mil in a year. I guess the alternative is a job in the Championship that pays him £1mil before tax (500k a year after tax). I'm sure everyone on this forum would turn down a x40 increase in their take home income
