We should continue to play Diaz on the right, he has shown recently he the ability now to beat his man, perhaps give him a run of games there and see if he can kick on.

It.would be fine if Robertson, Tsimikas werent injured because you could have Gomez fill in for Trent. But all 3 are now out. That aside Mo and Szobo are also out, and those 3 have created the most amount of chances in our side.

The run of games is.....kind, until you get to Arsenal away on February 4th. We'll need to get the ball forward massively until then.

Big blow. Been our best player since the City fixture. The break couldn't have come at a better time. We're really thin at the back now.

Big blow, but if it is 3 weeks it can maybe be managed. He could be back for Chelsea, the semi's and the Bournemouth matches are a kick in the bollocks though.

How long is Tsimikas or Robbo out for still? Bradley can step up or Gomez can fill in maybe

Hopefully bad news Pearce is right about the 3 weeks out.

Only positive is he's got himself a mid season break.

I always hate January's, tournaments and injuries always hit us hard since Klopp's been with us.

3 weeks is fine - basically a good midseason break .. more than that isn't

Our aversion to buying right full backs is a constant puzzlement, hopefully Bradley can do well. We're crazy thin at the back now

Ironically we'll miss his ability to unlock the top half of the pitch more than in defence. We'll need Mac Allister to step into the defence splitting pass role.

Hopefully with the break after tomorrow will mean he won't miss too many games. Plus with the LBs coming back soon maybe Gomez can move over to RB for a little bit.

So would then miss Tomorrow's game, Bournemouth, 2nd leg vs Fulham and the FA cup game vs Norwich/Bristol Rovers. Obviously not ideal, but could be worse.

Yeah.. a blessing, with the curse.
We're done with the Arsenal in the FAC, we're still top of the league, with a bit of rest coming up... we should have enough for the League Cup and we have players coming back.
Now is as good as ever a time for this to happen. Get it over with.
Chelsea would be an ideal time for him to come back.

Ideally we would have liked to put some distance over Fulham (albeit beating them will be hard enough in itself) so we could worry less over the second leg which is a game of 3 in a week, without Trent that gets harder. Team will deal with it though.

Yeah, so frustrating. I know we have a number of players missing but for one reason or another, it's just about manageable. Alexander-Arnold being out feels like a significant loss given his form and how much he brings to the team.

Best case scenario he misses one league game against Bournemouth, which would be difficult anyway but now even more so. It's also turned this semi a bit more in the balance as well (and I thought it would be tight anyway, given who we've got missing).

Hopefully Bradley and Beck can do the business over the next few weeks dm Szoboszlai is back for the second leg.

Went from last to first in my fantasy league with a no mancs no halland C-mo trent and son policy and BOOM they've ripped them all away the cheating bastards. it was bad enough when it was just mo and son but this im taking personally.  ;D

Hopefully we scrape by and it just rests him up for the sharp end of the season. that announcer dickhead with his "its just not good enough" when he actually went over and slowed him down with a torn ligament best stand up and apologize.

Bit shellfish of him to get injured knowing we’re struggling for fullbacks.

Hope someone says something to him.

No need, its a given he feels shrimpish about it already.

here's Trent getting injured and limping.

https://www.empireofthekop.com/2024/01/09/moment-alexander-arnold-knee-injury/

Injured in the 68th minute and still played the whole game, great attitude or stupid not to take him off risking more damage?

It's always a chance you take though, i dont think he got any treatment so he may have felt like it was nothing at the time. Quansah looked like he got injured in the first half but was fine. Can't take off every player who feels a twinge.

Seems like just one of those things.

So frustrating he'll be out, as he's been the difference maker in so much of our play this season. It's never a good time to have another injury, but the silver lining is our next 4 games are Fulham x2, Bournemouth, and either Bristol/Norwich.

Thats 10 players unavailable now, and we just need to somehow navigate the next few weeks unscathed and hopefully get Trent, Dom, and Robbo back in a few weeks for Chelsea/Arsenal, then Mo/Endo a couple of weeks later. Huge test for our squad depth, and we'll no doubt see more of Quansah, Bradley and Elliot. Thiago and Bajetic can't come back soon enough, as our players are dropping like flies and we're still in 4 competitions.
I've got OCD, but I prefer to call it CDO so it's in alphabetical order.
