Huge win by Barca but massive blow losing Messi

Dembele was very poor again today and it was interesting to see the Barca fans turning against him during the match. He seems to have gone back to square one in terms of a lack of start since the run of games in which he was scoring goals. He has come in for a lot of criticism lately. Can see him leaving next summer if I'm honest.

It's been one of the strangest starts to a La Liga season in many years..

While I'm not a big fan of Lopetegui's, it would be seem quite unfortunate to be sacked given squad changes and the fact your direct rival has shared an almost equally bemusing start.  What's their excuse?  It's almost like they don't know what to do with themselves now that Ronaldo is gone.

It could be one of those seasons that sees a less fashionable team hang around going into the 2nd half, like your Depors and Sociedad's of seasons ago.  Look at little Alaves kick and scratch their way to be well positioned.  Good to see.

Atletico have got a great opportunity to win the league but because Simeone has them playing football like cowards, they are currently blowing it.

Lopetegui in the brink of being sacked after just 9 league games according to a few rumours.

That was worth all the fuss and accusations of throwing Spain’s World Cup into chaos then.

Alaves will win Aberlardo Fernandez Antuna has done a brilliant job since he became their manager and they are a horrible side to play against under him. As for Villareal Javier Calleja Revilla is under pressure at the moment and his boys are struggling near the bottom of the table.

Taxi para Lopetegui.
I've had a quick look at this guy's coaching record and was wondering if someone with more knowledge explain how he managed to get the job in the first place?  He did well with the Spain underage setup but was sacked at Porto and with the Spanish National team, all he did was help qualify easily for the World Cup which is what one would expect. How did he get the Madrid gig?

Good question, guess they thought he'd be familiar with most of their squad, so no huge drop off post Zidane. How wrong they were.
