I last saw Craig Johnson in the flesh, in April 1989. It was a couple of days after Hillsborough, and I was on the Kop, tying my scarf to one of the crash barriers.
I felt someone by the side of my, on my right and turned to see who it was, as you do. It was Craig, just stood there looking at me, the sadness in his face.
He was there with about four or five of his relatives, who'd all just flown straight over from Australia.
No fanfare, no camera's, no publicity. Just stood there, on the Kop, with his family, mingling with the fans. Looking as shell shocked as the rest of us.
Sad that he ended his career early, but very honourable to do so for his sister.
Post football, he's had his hand in some very lucrative business initiatives, as well.
