Coutinho has had a quiet few weeks. I really hope he is saving himself for this game - getting into a habit of bringing big goals to the table. Desperate to see him win his first piece of silverware as much as anyone, really.

haha - reminds me of when we did a banner back in 85 - made it up on me Mum's living room floor (brand new house ) but before the carpet went down.  One of these days - when my Mum decides to replace said carpet (yes it's been down that long!) - it will be revealed in all it's glory

Sevilla will be strong and have an edge when it comes to experience of an European final as they have won twice in a row. They know what it takes to win these. In our team, only Kolo and Moreno would have that experience, or am I missing someone?

Winning, or winning a European cup? I can't recall Kolo winning a European cup so I'm not sure why you'd mention him if you're going by that. But in terms of winning in general, there is Milner as well

1-0 down before half-time, 1-1 at the death, followed by 2 goals in extra time: 3-1!

of course they will - but from all accounts this Sevilla team has had a lot of turnover in the last 2 years as well.

So we didn't register Bogdan, and Danny Ward is injured.

So what happens if Migs picks up an injury before or during the tie...  ???
There's a goalie from the Academy travelled with. Not much of a confidence booster, but he's at least a goalie.

I was thinking more in terms of playing in an European final with all the pressure that brings. Can and Sturridge might both have been on the bench, but neither have actually played in a final.
I sort of take your point here but at the same time we played in a final not more than a few months ago so I think our lads know the score. And as for European experience - only Milan, Barcelona and Real Madrid can argue they have more than us. I don't think this will be a factor in the outcome of the game.

For Liverpool as a club I agree with you, but when it comes to our players who will be involved I am not so sure. We have hardly had consistent runs in Europe with these players. Hopefully that lost final will serve an experience, even if the stakes are a lot higher this time.

dont know if its just me but I cant believe how nervous I am about this game...been to more finals with the Reds than I can recall - including European Cups - but cant remember feeling this jittery?..- think its partly because its been such a rare occurrence in recent years - and also because so much is riding on it - whatever it is my arse has gone already and its only Tuesday! ...;D

Kolo & Lovren must watch out for Gameiro sneeky striker ghosts behind defenders and is a good finisher.I wonder if klopp will set us up to play a bit deeper to counteract this.

With most of the walking wounded back we should have a pretty strong bench with

Benteke
Origi
Ibe
Allen
Lucas
Hendo

Hopefully they are not needed.

And people suggesting any variation of a close scoreline with injury time winner. No Thank you!  :wanker My heart can't take it anymore this season.

Yeah, I just thought he may have been registered before he got injured. I suppose with Divock and Benteke on the bench he may not have made it anyway.

Nice to see him on Sunday though. Next season will be Danny's time. :)
I hope he goes full John Terry and walks up the steps fully kitted to pick up the trophy.

Is there any news on whether Origi is starting fit or not? Personally I think if he's ready for the full 90 Klopp would start him instead of Sturridge. Sort of like when Can came right back in the team for the return leg against Villarreal.

Nah he will be on the bench. It will be the same team that played against Chelsea according to James Pearce.

Just watched a compilation, goosebumps starting, nerves already kicking in. Not so much because I'm scared about what will happen if we lose - as people have said the biggest victory this season is justice. On the football side, the fact we have got Klopp means worries for the future are less than they would be.

I'm scared about what will happen if we win.

Think about the catharsis that winning a trophy in this year of all years would be. Think about the sheer joy and good feeling that would bounce around this club for the off-season, and how incredible it would be to start back in the league, the stadium extension complete, one of the best managers in the world leading us and still high off the silverware and CL nights back at Anfield. Think about what it would actually show; that we are capable of competing with and beating some of the best in Europe. That we can achieve the kind of comeback that will be talked about for generations but etched into folklore in we win. Think about the personal redemption for players like Lovren, whose missed penalty last year put us out and who has completed his very own remarkable turnaround with the kind of symmetry that only this very special club throws up. Just think about how incredible, how unbelievable, how very Liverpool it would be to win this thing.

On a more practical and less romantic note, look at how it would sell the club to players like Götze, who want to be competing at the highest level. There are so many great things that would come off the back of a win tomorrow night, and it has that feeling about it; a possible turning point in our history. We know these feelings can be deceptive - 2013/14 will hurt for a long time for that reason as well. But as we all know, this club specialises in moments like this. It's what we do.

I can't wait.

Great post mate.

It's an option but Klopp doesn't seem to play players out of their best positions so that's why I'm assuming Smith will be on the bench.

I think he will have a centre half on the bench, probably skrtel, as kolos hammys have a tendency to go on him and there is a chance of extra time too!

We are 0-2 down and it's 90 minutes on the clock. We have all given up hope and suddenly it's 1-2. Final kick of the ball and we score again to make it 2-2. Extra time time. We concede two more in the first of extra time so it's 2-4. Next thing you know, we score 3 in the second half of extra time to make it 5-4. Fifth goal in injury time of the second half of the extra time.

Taking its sweet time to come around.

Reckon Skrtel, Lucas, Allen, Benteke, Henderson and Origi will be the outfielders on the bench. Could be a need to add balance in Smith and Ibe but a full back and a winger are not exactly positions where we cannot shift players around to cover.
