This lads experience is crucial, he's got a premier league medal, he’s a top pro as well great example to our young squad, made up we have him and on a free one of the best transfers in recent years.

I've got a feeling that Origi is the real deal, from a couple of games I watched but mainly his interviews there seems to be something about him.

Stevie is the best pen taken we've ever had. Immense in high profile pressurised situations.

He might be the best player we've ever had but he wasn't the best penalty taker we've ever had. He was a machine in 13/14 but overall missed too many to be considered that.

Jimmy is next level, tellin' ya.

His last 2 penalties against Hull were low and to the right.  His last one at the Kopp end was nearly saved by Marshall.

Knowing that Fabiański would have watched the tape of his penalties from the week before, he keeps his nerve and
goes sweetly down the middle.

Such a great photo. Surely "Are you not entertained?" has been mentioned in connection with it? He's the very model of a gladiator in all respects. In an era of endless pizazz and shallow moneygrubbers, he seems like a real working class hero. No nonsense, no celebrity, but incredibly good at his job, whatever is asked of him. He deserves a lot of respect.
Great idea mate.

He is a machine, I think it's been a constant in his career, and I remember Kloppo commentating late last season on how he is in training, that it doesn't matter the circumstance, he'd be ready to go again next day. He's just the perfect professional in how he takes care of himself and works hard.

Some quotes from the Echo today, seems Milner thinks Kloppo is pretty unique  :D :

And despite having previously worked with the likes of Fabio Capello, Sven Goran-Eriksson and Manuel Pellegrini, the 30-year-old admits Klopp is unique.

“Every manager is different, they have their strengths and weaknesses,” said Milner, whose penalty capped a Liverpool fightback in their 2-1 win at Swansea on Saturday.

“But Jurgen is a top manager. Definitely up there with one of the best I’ve worked with.

“His organisation, his passion. The sessions he does are different to anything else I’ve ever experienced.

“It can only be a good thing. You see his enthusiasm when he’s bouncing on the touchline. The only thing you might say is ‘sometimes is he too emotional at times?’

only Boring James would say that hahaha

One thing that surprised me was that even though Milner favours going to the keeper's left, he still would have scored because the keeper dived to his right.

Couldn't get to the game tonight, got a new born on my hands. But for me and rather suprisingly Robbie Savage he summed up Milners all round game so simply but could not have said it any better.
H e was referring to him playing left back, but he mentioned something along the lines of his all round general play being excellent.   That in itself can somehow become the hardest thing in the world for footballers, ie do the basics well and build on that. His crossing is very good, his tackling is intelligent and firm when needed. He can pass, score battles all day long and his reading of the  game is outstanding.
It has probably become more prominent and noticeable as he is playing in defence , but he made some vital interceptions tonight, and he makes them as high up the pitch or as early as possible.
His ability to snuff out is exceptional.   This is a proper footballer, committed, passionate, loyal and honest. Well Done lad, you really are doing us proud and worth every penny of your wages.

Milner is a damn good left back. But after this season, when we buy a good true left back, he would be an awesome, awesome backup anywhere! Left side, right side, defender, midfielder, you name it.

Exactly.  Will be a key backup in all positions.  Only problem is the high wages for somebody that could be on the bench as backup.

He's a proper throwback footballer. He's tough, hard working, psychical for his size and has many great qualities on the ball too. His versatility is his main asset but he's more than just a Jack of all trades.

I can't praise him enough.

If we do buy a left back. I think we need to get a tall one. For the sake of set pieces alone. If you look at the top sides in Europe, they generally have one tall full back (who could be part of a back 3 within a game even). Our team lacks a bit of height, at least until Grujic makes it into the 11.

I watched a little bit of Sunday supplement this morning (I know) but one of them made a good point. Miller was a fantastic cross country runner at school which will probably extend his career more than most because of his sheer stamina.

A wonderful example to so many players. You get the impression that Shanks and Bob would have loved him and he could play in any era.

Think he is brilliant and along with Henderson they are the example of what attitude is needed.

But it's exactly because he is right footed, he can make lots of quick diagonal vertical passes from our defensive half and from the left sided midfield which opens up the field and makes a quick transition.

Many left back would dream to have his right foot with that range of passing.

Have followed Milner's career with delight. I love when he gets fouled, he just gets up, dusts himself off and then gets on again.  No bitching, no moaning, no attempts to play the referee. I've seen him maybe bitch once or twice, but they were huge fouls!

Just a silly question maybe but does anybody know if Jimmy Milner was a Liverpool supporter as a kid? He joined us from City even though he had a significantly better financial offer from City to stay with them. It might be bollocks but maybe he's fulfilling a childhood dream by playing for us?

Well in his first game he wasn't using his left foot. Recently he has done so a lot more. If there's a criticism to be made of Milner as left back it's his weak left foot. But I think he is adjusting and the passes/crosses are sometimes coming off...
