Yeah Stevie wasn't too bad from the spot.

Got a lot better in the latter part of his career but I don't think his record was anything spectacular.

He was immense in his latter years. Scored like 13 out of 14 or something mental throughout 13/14 season in all comps. And absolute pressure pens as well. Never been as confident in any pen taker as I was in later day Stevie.

He literally learnt to be good at them. Was pretty iffy to say the least early on; by the end he was one of the best in the business

Mentaliteeeee

Wasn't he gesturing to the head after the pen, suggesting some mental games with the keeper? Anyway, he is our best penalty taker by a mile, and long it may last!

Stevie is the best pen taken we've ever had. Immense in high profile pressurised situations.

No doubt he will have a couple of bad games throughout the season, but i sure as hell won't be critiscising him when he does.

He's been asked to play in a completely unfamiliar role, and has been excellent so far. Keep it up Milly!

Shows the power of TOP DRAWER management and clear vision...I was pretty pissed that we had to tempt him to play for us by offering StevieG wages. I kept saying paying an experienced player someone else's wage doesn't make that player!! I had the fewm on proper during those Brendan days...What does this Milner cat do exactly? Well now his effect is getting close to that of a certain Mr Gary mac....

If only his brain could be put in to Moreno's body. You'd have a perfect left back.

Funny thing is it's already one of the best goal scoring season's of his entire career :lmao

Got to admire the way he maximizes his talents. Really intelligent 'do the basics' footballer and that's what we need right now. Until we find our long term left back solution - Milner is almost 31 - he's perfect for the job because he just gets on with the job. Can be relied upon unlike Moreno.

Reminiscent of Shanks switching Alec Lindsay to left back after trying him everywhere else ... to great success.

Lindsay was a funny one though - naturally right-footed, but kicked with his left. Like Milner, he had no great pace either though.

Such a great photo. Surely "Are you not entertained?" has been mentioned in connection with it? He's the very model of a gladiator in all respects. In an era of endless pizazz and shallow moneygrubbers, he seems like a real working class hero. No nonsense, no celebrity, but incredibly good at his job, whatever is asked of him. He deserves a lot of respect.

great player from day one in here... im so glad we bought him.

He is a machine, I think it's been a constant in his career, and I remember Kloppo commentating late last season on how he is in training, that it doesn't matter the circumstance, he'd be ready to go again next day. He's just the perfect professional in how he takes care of himself and works hard.

Some quotes from the Echo today, seems Milner thinks Kloppo is pretty unique  :D :

And despite having previously worked with the likes of Fabio Capello, Sven Goran-Eriksson and Manuel Pellegrini, the 30-year-old admits Klopp is unique.

“Every manager is different, they have their strengths and weaknesses,” said Milner, whose penalty capped a Liverpool fightback in their 2-1 win at Swansea on Saturday.

“But Jurgen is a top manager. Definitely up there with one of the best I’ve worked with.

“His organisation, his passion. The sessions he does are different to anything else I’ve ever experienced.

“It can only be a good thing. You see his enthusiasm when he’s bouncing on the touchline. The only thing you might say is ‘sometimes is he too emotional at times?’

“He’s a top manager and hopefully we can go on and become very successful with him.”

“He’s brought in his own players and he’s improved players who were already here,” added the Reds’ vice-captain.

“He’s been able to work with us long enough to get his style across. Everyone knows their jobs.

“We can still improve. We know that and that’s the pleasing thing.

I've seen Craig Bellamy say it too. A lot of them have been too to be honest. I don't understand it, does a player lose his penalty kick ability simply because he starts at LB now? Or have they not seen Milner take penalty kicks prior to this season? (Flashbacks of Balotelli  :butt)

It wasn't that milner wasnt good enough.  The inference was that the forwards needs to be braver and hungrier.

Whatever it was, it was fucking bollocks.

The best penalty taker should always take pens. Even if he's a fucking centre half.
