Can Grujic be recalled?

I doubt we can but aside from that didn't we put him on loan due to lack of playing time and inability to register him as one of the 17 non-homegrown players?

The lack of playing time might not be an issue but who knows who will and won't be fit when we could (but probably can't) recall Grijic from loan. An issue would be how you register him. Could remove van Dijk as a non-homegrown player and register Grujic in the PL squad instead. Probably can't buy a centre back then. At least not a non-homegrown one.

Thinks it's unlikely to happen even if a recall was possible. Plus it's probably not possible without a financial penalty for us.
I think Jookie might just be the best fisherman on this thread.

Clean some boots. What do you think?

Thiago, Milner, Ox, Shaq all out. Fabinho playing at CB. Anything happens to Gini and Hendo (again) then we are exceptionally light on numbers. The number of games is only going to ramp up.
Well cleaning some boots makes more sense than what you are suggesting because he wouldn't be brought back to play football.

You can't just rock up a few games into the season and play. We have already submitted our squads at the start of the season for the PL and the CL. And while a change can be made I believe in January. None of the players you listed are out long term and Grujic also doesn't qualify as home grown player so it creates an additional problem.

Lovely hit and a really difficult bit of skill to pull off, running on to the ball and having to open your body to bend it into the top corner like that.  Super goal.

I've seen quite a few highlights of Cardiff so far this season and Ojo has consistently created presentable chances, often 2, 3, even 4 in a single game.

When he's on, Ojo has the making of a Premier League player.

I know he’s not going to have a future here, but Taiwo Awoniyi is making many friends on the FC Union side of Berlin. And tonight he gives them the lead in the Berlin derby.

Elliott starts again for Blackburn vs Bristol City. His 11th start from 12 eligible games, and he's played the full 90 minutes 8/11 times so far. Seems he's quickly become one of Blackburn's more important players. Not bad for a 17 year old.

What he usually does. Excellent technique, excellent understanding of how to find space in the pockets...picking passes to get shots for others. Hard work off the ball, super unselfish in his general play.

Harvey Elliott created more chances against Bristol City than 9 Championship TEAMS managed in their midweek games.

Just a reminder that he’s still only 17...

He laid on no fewer than six key passes across the course of the game, with his link-up with Adam Armstrong again proving to be the best source of chances for Rovers – though the in-form striker failed to net any of his nine shots on the night.

The 17-year-old has created an average of 2.6 key passes per 90 minutes in the Championship this season – that’s easily the most of any player aged 20 or under and seventh overall regardless of age (among players with a minimum of five appearances).

Safe to say the young man is having a fruitful loan spell.

I'm constantly amazed by the weight of his passes. Just perfect, it's like the ball and his boot are in love. Dare I say very Shaqiri-esque. Extremely pleasant on the eye.

Anyone know how Grujic has been doing for Porto so far?

doing ok, 5th start last weekend vs Tondela in Portuguese league - initially not much game time.  A few sub chances. Got another CL game under his belts in the 2-0 win at Olympiakos - he played 90 mins. Previously  away at Marseille he  got sent off on 60 mins.

Grujic played the full 90 minutes in a 2-1 victory for Porto, as one of six players to keep their place from the 2-0 win at Olympiakos in the Champions League in midweek, with the Serbian hopefully finding his place in Portugal.

Just took a peek over on blackpools forum to see how Woodburns getting along and it doesn't look good for him at all. They are saying that he has basically been useless since he arrived and they don't want to extend his loan to the summer. Apparently seems disinterested in it all. I struggle to see where we will be able to get him a loan transfer in the next 18 months when he can't even impress at league one level.
