If they've sacked Rodgers now, then they'll be pretty certain of his replacement barring something crazy cropping up.

Yep no fucking way would these people just sack Brendan without having a proper replacement in place.

Whoever the new manager is, he'll have to work with the current group until Jan 1, when the transfer window opens again.

I wonder what will happen to the loan players, some of whom are quality players and could conceivably become part of a strong squad under a different manager. I also wonder about certain roles i.e. will Henderson be an automatic selection and captain? will Milner be a CM?

I'm disappointed that we're still keeping on the committee because there are clear issues with them but it is what it is.

The committee did a decent job IMO. The biggest problem was the disconnect between the committee and the manager. If we get in a manager that accepts that he has to work with the committee and get the best out of the players given to him then I think it can work.

I mean it's not like Ancelotti has made a career working under some of the craziest, meddling owners picking and selling players for him.
Yeah, really. He's spent his career working at circus clubs.

The owners are a blessing to this club compared to some of its supporters.

If it is true that all of the assistants are let go too, FSG must certainly have a new manager signed. Otherwise, you'd certainly wait to see if the new man would like to keep some of that staff?

It might be something along the lines of all the coaches have been given notice and some might end up staying when the new guy is confirmed, but he will obviously need to meet them first.

They've let the club spend a good amount since they've been here. Tell me what do you think is wrong with them?

They clearly want success but they went about it the wrong way by appointing a young bright manager instead of a proven and experienced one.

A new manager has to arrive but the transfer committee has to disappear at the same time !!! Brendan might have his mistakes but the committee has been awful...

I wish we could have won something together with Brendan...it's a real shame we didn't because the manager would have deserved it all the life.

I wish him the best of the luck for the future!

For the decision to be made to sack Brendan even before the Everton match suggests to me that we have already have a Manager in place and if i was a betting man it will be Klopp.

Lucas should be captain, sakho vice captain.

Rodgers got that all wrong, and might have been ethnocentric.

What might help Klopp if we get him is that we have a midfield that is capable of playing a high energy game.

Yes, but it's as disingenuous to say that "we've sold about 60m worth of players; Rodgers has had it tough because they haven't backed him".

If you want to talk about transfers; talk about net spend.

If Sterling was even worth close £49m you might have a point. The club did well to raise that sort of money for him and we should have replaced him easily for a fraction of that.

Villas-Boas is supposed to be next on the list, followed by De Boer.

I think FSG won't go against the majority of the fanbase and will provide Klopp with what he asks for.

I tend to agree.

I don't think the quality of many "committee" picks has been too bad. If players like Ilori, Manquillo, Markovic, Aspas, and even Sakho (all recognised I be committee picks) were given bigger roles I'm sure they'd contribute more than they have, and we wouldn't have been buying and selling quite so many players under Rodgers.

But isn't it better if it is the manager who chooses the players he thinks are more suitable ?
