 We were outscored today by a team that is obviously playing with high confidence swagger at the moment, but do look to have issues of their own. It's a shame we weren't the team to exploit their frailties, but we are pretty much looking toothless up front. Plenty of calls to bring Balo on half time, we did, and Neville said it right, a mixture of bad finishing and good goalkeeping kept their clean sheet.

 Thought there were instances of nice play from us, but we seem to just bottle it in the box and that is fucking frustrating. Midfield looked pretty weak and despondent. Gerrard could have been on the bench and I'm not sure many would have noticed, wondering why Lucas weren't in there to compete on a physical level. I'm sure there's more to pick up on, but at the moment, we just look deflated and rightly so; we seem to be creating chances, but no-one is there to put them away.

 Going to be an interesting January indeed.

Positives- we created more than they did, some good movement at times. You swap Sterling out for Sturridge and today could have looked a lot different.

Before the usual pricks kick off, lets look briefly at the game...

They broke away from a good save and scored.
Theyre second was a offside goal. No if or buts or red tinted glasses.
The 3rd comes when we are commiting too far forward, which we have to do as we are losing. Granted it was a very poor attempt at a clearance from Lovren too
Theyre keeper has pulled of, what, 5 TOP TOP saves. Not ones where he is diving full tilt across his goal line, but ones where he has stood tall, put an arm out or got down low well and fast etc, but 5 great saves. Said keeper gets the MOTM award.

So near yet a million miles away. Take our chances and it is a different game. One real shocker from the lino killed the game as we had to chase more then and we were leaving ourselves vulnerable to the counter as their third goal showed. That Liverpool team had every chance to do something in this game. Our confidence is low and we are desperate for some goals to bring back that confidence. Rodgers needs our backing more than ever.

Another error by Lovren leads to a goal... feel bad for the guy, because he's going to be butchered now.

Most of our squad having a mare, but more than bad individual performances was the lack of communication in attack - Sterling with a cutback to Balotelli for a certain goal, Balo leaving it short for Sterling who goes the other direction. Don't think those two get along outside  football either. Coutinho's attempted through ball at 85 min to Balo, who stops running. Sterlign refusal to release Lazar on a late fast run at 92 min.

All the flair players on different wave lengths, and no trust at all between players.

Kolo the only one showing heart out there by the end. At 83 min, Joe's failed through ball - his body language says it all there. A reflection of the team's (dead) spirit.

Me thinks we are entering a very dark period.

Getting thrashed by such a shit United side... it doesn't get worse than this. Respect for the travelling Kop's YNWA there at the end.
