People only did 79 to fit Bird in, but you might as well do 76 for DJ & Doctor J as well. Anyway you can mess a draft up Anyway does.
Yeah exactly. 78 was just to fit Bird and Magic. 75 would have been nice to fit in guys like Walton, Dr J, Moses, Gervin, David Thompson. Not that I'm complaining, as a latecomer.

That's a good team. I'm just glad that Ewing finally got some top quality players around him that actually suit his game. Enjoy it Big Fella! And I'll be honest, I'd rather my team didn't face Ewing&Co. until as late as possible (same with Isiah&Co.), just feels wrong for me.

edit: I thought you just got Artest as your 6th man?

Nope. Drafted Horry before Artest but Horry off the bench. Not that it matters. Just looking at rotations with those 6 Horry could rotate with Pau or Artest for short minutes, or move Pau to centre and again Horry plays stretch 4.

PG - Rajon Rondo
SG - Mitch Richmond
SF - Scottie Pippen
PF - Dennis Rodman
C - Al Horford
6th - Klay Thompson

Same as before, high pick and roll team with a big who can shoot. Also versatile -- can go big with Pippen at Point and Richmond/Thompson on the wings stretching the floor, or can go small & quick with Rodman coming off and a lot of drive & kick from Rondo.

Defense obviously was focus here though. Three elite defenders, three very serviceable. No defensive liabilities.
Like it Nicky, would be very fun to watch.

Would do well. I had me reservations when you went with Dirk and Charles back to back, and when you were advised to go for a defensive centre as well I had some ideas in mind, though Lambier slipped my mind, which is an inspired choice I think. You're a little imbalanced, missing a true SF. But you've got some great players.

PG- Tony Parker

SG- Andrew Toney

SF- Charles Barkley

PF- Dirk Nowitzki

C- Bill Laimbeer

6th man- Jamal Crawford

I'll be honest, I didn't remember watching a lot of Andrew Tony, probably because he was playing with world class players and he fell through the cracks! But I like your team. I've always thought Laimbeer was extremely underrated as a center, and only because he was a "bad boy". But he had a very strong mentality, was a great leader, tough defender, and had a soft passing touch and a great shot on him (his range went out to the 3 point line!).

And you're playing him alongside a player that redefined the way the pf positon was played. Dirk is close to (or an a slight tier below) Duncan as the top power forwards in the league, ever. I like that you've picked Barkley as your sf. I think if you'd just kept it as Dirk and Laimbeer as your pf and C, you might have been overpowered and bullied in the low post area and around the ring, by some other teams, but Barkley as a SF brings back the physical edge. He's a SF that plays like a PF, but he should be able to handle most of the other sf's defensively (to a certain degree). As for Parker, another underrated player on your team, he'll enjoy the pick and roll options available (Laimbeer-pick and pop, Dirk-pick and pop, Barkley- pick and drive) and I think he's among the leaders in shooting % in the zone (among guards), courtesy of his floater. Obviously, you've also got Mr. "I was elected to shoot, not to pass" Crawford for some additional pop off the bench.

Like I mentioned earlier, those in the latter end of the pick order have done exceptionally well. The rest of us need to up our game.

Thanks homie! Seems like a nice mix of personalities too. If anyone can control Rondo it would be Scottie.

Should have picked Scalabrine when you had the chance. Natural born leader et al.

Rather have Bosh as the power forward with KG as center.

Bosh will get bullied by the elite centers.

Yeah, realised that Bosh would get killed by Shaq etc. Had a couple of centers in mind but I decided to go for a big who can shoot the 3 fairly well.

Picked Russ Westbrook. I honestly had to double and triple check cause I couldn't believe he was still available. Chuffed.

Secondary ball handler, either starter at 2-guard or instant offence off the bench.

PG: Nash
SG: Spree
SF: Mullin
PF: Malone
C: Yao

or

PG: Nash
SG: Westbrook
SF: Spree
PF: Malone
C: Yao
with Mullin as a 6th man

Two pick and roll artists, passing and shooting at all 5 positions, rim protection, rebounding, athleticism. No obvious flaws, really happy with my team.

Good team. Yao is about as slow as they come which is why I veered away from him, but good team.

Fair point. I'd have preferred to have an extra round to get a stretch four and have the chance to shift Malone at centre against teams without a dominant low post player, but all the decent ones left would have been poor value compared to Westbrook and another players still available in other positions.

Russel wouldn't have suited the way I was planning to play my team but it was too hard to resist not picking him because like you said, with his explosiveness and pace, he would have been a great option coming off the bench.

Initially had my eyes set on Ron Artest (or whatever he's called nowadays  :P) but happy to secure the signature of Shawn Marion as my 6th man...

Shawn Marion is "one of the best players of his generation. The versatile forward out of UNLV has been a great shooter throughout his NBA career, with a career average of .485 from the field and never dipping below .440 for a season. He also has been excellent at defending pretty much every position on the floor, highlighted perhaps by his masterful job on LeBron James during the 2011 NBA Finals. He also is one of just five players in league history to log 1,500 steals and 1,000 blocks for his career, joining the Hall of Fame quartet of Hakeem Olajuwon, Karl Malone, Kevin Garnett, and Julius Erving".

My Final Roster... The Mean Street Express

PG - Kevin Johnson
SG - Dwayne Wade
SF - Grant Hill
PF - Serge Ibaka
C - David Robinson
6th - Shawn Marion

I'm a little surprised the 2014 NBA Finals MVP, and the best young defender in the NBA today, Kawhi Leonard, was still available ???. (not that I'm complaining, I've been counting down the picks hoping everyone was looking so much in the past that they might forget the present  :))
With a 7-3 wingspan, 11.25 inch hands, incredible athleticism, and already a member of the All Defensive team (in only his second season!), I've finally got my lock-down defender that can guard three positions, rebound, shoot the open free, and is a threat on the fastbreak. I can play big, small, or defensive, depending on the matchups.

Hakeem - C.

Big Ben - PF.

Kukoc - SF.

Allen - SG.

Payton - PG.

Schrempf - 6th Man.

Quite happy with the team. Has everything I need. Two of the best rim protecters of all time in Big Ben and The Dream. GP is one of the best lockdown defenders of all time and an elite point guard. In Kukoc, I have a complete attacker. And, Ray coming off the screens set by Big Ben and The Dream. During the close quarters, if I need points, I can always bring in Schrempf on as the stretch four.

C - Dwight Howard
PF - Rasheed Wallace
SF - LeBron James
SG - Joe Dumars
PG - Penny Hardaway
6th man - Kyle Korver

Thanks to Jerseyhoya for this one. Wanted a 6th man who could straight up shoot the lights out from beyond the arc. And with my starting line-up all composed of elite defenders in their own right, I could afford to pick an absolute specialist like Korver who is a fairly competent defender himself. With LeBron being my primary ball handler, having an option to kick out the ball to makes him so dangerous as we've seen in his career. With Korver in, I would simply move Dumars to the PG spot and have Howard and LeBron pick out Korver whenever possible. Quick points guaranteed.

PG - Magic Johnson
SG - James Harden
SF - Dominique Wilkins
PF - Kevin Love
C - Dikembe Mutombo
6th - Lamar Odom

Harden aside, I really like the team, AWWUC.

Good team.

I was considering 'Sheed for my PF spot when I picked Big Ben.

I'd like to complain about the nba draft commissioner anywhichwayucan sending me personal abusive messages for taking the 6th man he wanted.

Don't know what you're talking about. As a big fan and regular viewer of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Lamar Odom was always top of my 6th man list.
