Everton seem to be making a hash of everything lately, they used to be a good team for players to move to at a young age, gain some experience and exposure and then move on to a big club. Surely these players must now be looking at the likes of Lukaku, Barkley and Stones who can't get out of that place and wondering if it's worth the hassle of going there.
If they were willing to let Stones and Lukaku move on they could comfortably replace all of the players they've released with a number of £10-15 million signings, and one or two of those would probably be worth double or triple that in a couple of seasons, keeping the money coming in and the squad a decent size. As it stands I don't think they're relegation candidates thanks to teams like Hull, Swansea and Burnley who seem certain to go down, but they're not likely to go anywhere either.
