From the BBC Footy site. New Balance need to cough up or Nike will be swooping in (as a Nike fan, I hope to Fowler that's what happens).

Why such a big difference between Barca and Real?

It's crazy that there are five English clubs raking in more than us with kit deals.

Only United have the global reach and appeal we have.

Chelsea and City offers cashback for shirt sales. Other than that, I cannot see where they are going to find fans wearing them.

Nike, Adidas and NB will all be fawning over us, even more so if we win the league.  In terms of Global appeal and potential sales we should easily fall above that dodgy Man City Puma deal.  I'd expect upwards of 80M.
Been all over the world but Anfield is still my home.

I hope not, Nike are lazy with their kits & more expensive than NB, & that includes training/leasure range, Nike City's shirts look flimsy to, couple of City's shirts got torn in the recent CL match.

Yep their deal is up in summer 2020, same as ours.

Being rumoured Adidas will pay them around €110m a season guaranteed with more in bonuses.

It’s one of the reasons I can’t see Adidas being in for us, as would mean starting two massive deals that summer, plus already have United on big money too.

They're known to make lightweight shirts with all that breathing technology, just like Adidas. I guess we're not getting Adidas so it's between Nike and NB. As much as I love NB kits, Nike would be an interesting way to go and ouldd like to see what they come up with, hopefully no identikits!

Look at Spurs kits and City's kits, abominations, the away kits the 3rd kits, Spurs home kit. It would be the same template as all the other Nike sides like it is for Barca and every other Nike sponsored side. 20 some clubs have the same bloody collar design. Whether its Barca, Inter, Brighton Albion.

Bit of a tedious connection given that deal would be done between UA and Trent’s representatives and not the club at all.

I don't look at it as a wool brand or scally, but that's mainly because, for me, it's relatively new to the UK and I've mainly see high-level athletes and sports people wearing it like Anthony Joshua.

It's an American brand though innit? Been established there a long time?

What 'image' does Under Armour have in the States? If any yanks are on this forum would be good to have your views

As a side point, I remember we were all wearing Champion in the late 80s/early 90s...mainly due to club/rave culture....but I understand that Champion has a different image/market in the States? Like mainly for College sports??

UA is a great work out/training/gym brand, its been trying to get involved more with star athletes in terms of endorsements and what not, but to me it's not a brand for football kits.

Don't see them as a wool brand because if they were, they wouldn't be represented by guys like The Rock, Steph Curry and John Cena. But their stuff is very basic, it's just gym and running apparel. Adidas and Nike are on a whole different level to them.

I have a feeling that because we are such an "iconic" club with a unique history/tradition, any kit manufacturer would be told that they have certain constraints when designing our home kits and therefore I am not concerned who we go with, be it Nike or Puma or even Dunlop(!).

I'm sure our club is now strong enough to demand certain base requirements.

The initial Home releases from Warrior, and then NB are a good recent track record for us, in terms of possibly the club having a strong say in what LFC is all about.

Under Armour - lol

If New Balance can't afford us, I think Nike isn't a bad option.

I agree their collars this season aren't great, but over the past 25 years I've seen worse collars on LFC kits from Adidas, Reebok, Warrior and New Balance.

Nike's 3rd kits this season are rank, but we've had a few of those over the years too.

I do take the point about the similarity in basic design across the kits of different clubs, but as long as that basic design is at least ok (which it always is with Nike), that's better than the danger of having a shit kit - something that has sadly been the case too often for us.

Their 20th anniversary kit for Barca is cool (imho) - https://store.nike.com/gb/en_gb/pd/fc-barcelona-20th-anniversary-vapor-match-shirt/pid-12359130/pgid-12660120?cp=EUNS_AFF_WG_DE_61985

Under Armour is a very big deal in my home state of Maryland and they do some... creative things for the University of Maryland's sports teams (our state flag is loud and is used as a basis for the uniforms). Its pretty similar to what Nike does for the University of Oregon. Most people probably hate the look, but Marylanders generally love it as a state pride thing.

Under Armour is probably capable of doing good things for our kit, but it depends on whether they are really ready to invest fully in the space. They have the contract to make all of the uniforms for Major League Baseball, which is a very classic look.

Adidas have had a few good years catching up with Nike (Kanye effect) but those numbers are quite interesting.

Would love whatever we choose to have a strong first season with a LOT of stock made. Can imagine it’ll do huge numbers again sales wise.

With Salah, Mane, Virgil and even the likes of Trent, Alisson, Bobby, we have a lot of stars I’m sure every brand would want to buy into.

That Burnley Away kit made by Puma looked alright today.
Simple, traditional design and a nice cut - perfect collar (shame about the badge haha).

Call me Mr. Nostalgia, but I think the ideal LFC away kit is white shirt and socks, with black shorts. And red trim wherever the trim normally is.
For me, that is our signature Away kit. At a push, maybe All Yellow too.
Then for any 3rd kits, the manufacturer can use their creative licence.

I think we will most likely end up with Nike.
They've always gone for a brash, rebellious, street angle, and with Klopp and his Heavy Metal and the obvious global fame of the best team in the world (i.e., us), Nike would definitely be looking to pay just that little bit more to get us.

When do the designs for next seasons kits start leaking? Not heard a thing yet so unsure if the club are still negotiating or if a deal is now in place with NB.
