I like that a lot mate, hopefully Kuyt can nullify Silva and track him everytime he pulls into midfield from the left, which should leave a bit of room for Kelly to bomb on should Kuyt get a good tackle in and retain the ball.

Maxi and Bellamy pushing forward on the left, trying to get inbetween Richards and Savic at the back!

Good defence first, fast counter attacking play second!

Can't beleive there's another 6 bloody hours to go though!

Silva's not really a bottler, as far as I can tell. He seems fairly tough, despite his stature, and I don't imagine someone "clattering him" would put him off that much.

No Silva would destroy the player on the yellow. I would man mark him using Enrique. Conpletely remove him and Enrique from the game. After Silva city are just a collection of players with no real idea on how they want to attack.

Not sure if he would bottle it or not, and I certainly wouldn't use anyone to wake him up that's likely to cross paths with him again.
But I'd definately make sure sure he knew he wasn't gonna have it his own way.

Fabio used to play dm for Valencia and has done a good job as dm everytime.

awesome advice to the lads that....oh hang on it's not the 70's anymore. Clatter him early doors and get a yellow? Brilliant if we want to spend at least 60 mins with only 10 men, fucking top notch that mate.

Could definitely see an argument in playing Kuyt instead of Downing though, but I still hope Downing can come good and playing Kuyt effectively says we are hoping to hold on to a 1-0 win and Carroll will not have a chance of any service, compared to the slim to none we get from Stuart...

I would have Johnson at RB, Agger back in CB and Kelly as DM.

i think we probably will try to score a early goal before play safe. so by that point, Kelly can drop back and form the 3 CBs with Skrtel and Agger and play 5-4-1 or 5-3-1-1 with Bellamy and Carroll at the top.

I actually like Not funny reecehenebry's idea of man-marking Silva with Enrique.

Much better than Agger or Carra shouts. Enrique is a beast defensively and has the pace and defensive nous to track Silva wherever he goes.

Only reason that I mentioned Fabio before Carra was that if Barratt is right, then Kenny has discounted Adam, Gerrard & Henderson for the DM role and Spearing must still be injured.

Henderson improved considerably when moved to the middle, so I was surprised to see him back on the right against Bolton.

He keeps the ball simple, doesn't lose possession too often, and in some ways, we dont want the emphasis to be about how we can stop them. As per Lucas at the start of the season (and Spearing also in his brief appearances), his passing can start moves quickly, and put City on the back foot.
