Looks like a very attacking line up.. strikers should have plently of service.

Carroll being left out could obviously be for tactical reasons.. but its not a good sign  :(

Not saying I don't think we haven't got a good team out or that kenny is in the wrong - just very, very surprised.

Can't get to the match today but pleased to see Bellamy get a game. I hope Suarez and Bellamy rekindle their partnership that worked so well against Brighton. I also hope Carragher realises that two 5'8" guys don't want a constant barrage of hoofs.

Except that Suarez is over 5'10''...

Can see a lot of quick movement and passing with Downing, Bellamy, Suarez and Kuyt.  I wonder what role Stevie will be asked to play?  A little deeper than Adam?  He filled in for Lucas.

Rather Carroll than Kuyt and rather Agger than Carra/Skrtel. But oh well.

Really excited to see Bellamy.

No doubt that's deliberate. Good 'ol psychological warfare.  8)

Good team. Nice to see Johnson back. Attacking, flowing football (from both teams) looks like the order of the day. I doubt we'll see it in the air much. Should make for a good game. Niiiiice.

8-1 to us.  :P

We play Stoke away on Wednesday, people, don't forget, in a competition Kenny's taking VERY seriously

Not as seriously as he's taking the League I hope.

Got a fiver on Downing to be first scorer at 15/2

Think he's due a goal. He scored 1 in every 5.5 games last season for Villa, and this will be his tenth game of the season for us without a goal. Come on lad!

You can't play without defensive midfielders. Look at United. They usually have two or three in there.

Don't have any issues with the line up at all. Good to see bellamy starting and Johnson back.

For starters you've got Hitler and Stalin on the wrong sides at the back, just feel as if Kim Il-Jong and Mao would be a much more complete left wing.

Right, if these sort of topics are to stay open some of you need to cut out the smart arse remarks, playground style arguing and abuse. It's pathetic, ruins otherwise sensible discussion and wastes peoples time.

Argue your points about football. If you disagree with someone else then behave like a fuckin grown up and state your reasons why.

Thank you.

Only thing i can think of about the team selection is that we want to get at them as quick as possible build up a lead early on
I think the exclusion of andy is to take some of the spotlight off him and the criticism that he is getting at the moment from all corners of england including our own fans
But i think we can go out and beat these by about 3-4

Kuyt upfront, with Bellamy left wing; Downing on the right?  :o

Why are people complaining about what is a very attacking line-up? For years we have moaned about not taking it so called 'lesser' teams and when Kenny decides to put out an ultra attacking line-up, people still whinge. Would have liked to have seen Andy start but by the same token, I am excited to see Bellamy have a go from the start. C'mon lads, let's make sure the play matches the attacking intent and overwhelm them.

i kind of agree, but am prepared to be shown the way by Dalglish  8)

that midfield isn't one i'm immediately convinced by, but if we can get our front players purring along together then we could create a lot!

Interesting selection - would have picked Agger instead of Skrtel but otherwise a good attacking team. Norwich are not a bad team- will be a few goals.

Looks like Kenny favours to start carroll away from home, makes sense i guess. Need that extra fear in our side on the road, where as at home he's going for pace and agility to get the crowd behind the team as well.

Excellent line-up. Really looking forward to this.
I trust the King, but if we lose a few more on the trot now - he may have to step aside, and we have to purchase another manager in the middle of the season. If we are relegated, this could be the end of our ambitions to win any title the next 100 years.
