It's more of a feminine world these days. If you've got a good grasp of that "language", you can make things sound just a little more vague, less truthful and less "aggressive" than they really are.
I forgot to reply to someone's request, which was asked 2 days ago, so today I constructed an email and instead of apologising for my "late response", I resorted to switching that with "delayed response", implying that it was a deliberate delaying of said response.
Went right over their heads, that and there was no issue about it
