Just watched the highlights.

Coady has filled out a lot (or is it just me?)

He is a fucking monster, massive unit now.

His goal was really impressive.

How did Aquilani do?

A few good touch's and was good in the first 15 minutes. Faded as the game wore on.

How did Aquilani do?

Aquilani looked sharper than most, and was spraying "oooh" passes around for fun most of the time. A couple of times the way the crowd gasped reminded me of Hoddle at his best. Why we can't get good pound for him is beyond me.

Good run out and pleasing to see Cole, Aquilani, Adam and Carroll show flashes of quality. Youngsters did very well, even Wisdom who had a few nerves but got stronger as the half progressed. Robinson was probably the pick of the youngsters already has that air of quality about him. Shame about goals conceded but it will happen at this stage of preseason. Something for Clarke to sort out. It is clear to see fluidity to the team being imprinted in the style of play too, and this will only improve as players get fitter and new players bed in. I am sure Kenny is pleased with how the boys have gone about their work and great to see him giving the youngsters a taste. Looking forward to the next game.

Except Agger's bonce.

Oh, and Carroll's beard.

We had a 4-2-3-1 in each half, correct? What it looked like to me, but I am possibly off base.
Seemed to change between 433 and 4231 didn't it? Poulsen in front of the back 4, but Spearing sometimes dropping in, and Shelvey too at some points. Seemed pretty fluid, anyway. Then Coady playing deep, with Adam and Aquilani ahead of him.

only watched the 2nd half but aquilani looked brilliant.  his technique to control the ball and break into full speed instantaneously is a wonder to behold.  what he lacks in pace (not that he's a slowcoach) he more than makes up for with control and quick thinking.

So did Le Tallec in that pre-season game against Crewe. He was pulling the strings and demanding the ball like Zidane.

The rest is history.

So? It's not like that was Aquilani's only great game. He's a great player and it will be a blow if we sell him, simple.

finally got to watch it. interesting to see how we're now set up to play.

one big thing i've noticed is the space our wingers kuyt and maxi got because, i could only assume, they were instructed to stay wide, rather than come in for the pass. no doubt having charlie adam will only help this. now that we've downing as well, this will get very dangerous!

Wait till they play in Malaysia!!! Kickoff time at 5:45pm. they will melt in 45 seconds.

Wait till the World Cup in Qatar!

One of their import players. He was sound actually..caused the center half's some problems when he did have the ball. Not a bad player but not sure if he is premier league quality though.

Wasnt he the lad that Flanagan owned over and over again?

4goals and the team created plenty of chances and played entertaining football at times, cant fault that.
Conceding 3 isnt great but its a pre season friendly where we used our number 2,3 and 4 goalkeepers and gave plenty of youngsters a chance. No need to worry.

oh and how nice is it to see liverpool play again after 6weeks of nothing. Cant wait for the season to begin!
