Can get a new phone (upgrade) on 1st September and basically they said choose any phone and we'll sort it out. I did ask about this one because i'd seen an advert and they said they will give me this one for no extra charge.

Basically what I am asking is whether or not this is the best phone on the market? And if not, what is?

This is the best on the market.

Upgraded to this last week from an iphone 3gs. The phone is very nice. The AMOLED display is very clear and bright. The video/camera works very well too.

Still getting used to it, as it's difficult switching to android after 2 yrs with Apple...

I'm impressed though, as are my mates who currently have iphones.

Calling all RAWK experts!

Nothing ever goes to plan does it?  Last Tuesday I went in to the Carphone Warehouse (yes, I know I should have known better...) and signed up for a 24 month Vodafone contract, £30 a month, 500 mins, 500mb internet, Unlimited texts and free handset (Galaxy S2).  I gave them the PAC code which O2 had provided me with.  They told me I could use my O2 sim and that in about 48 hours it would no longer work, replace it with the Vodafone sim - and away you go.

But.

6 days later and the O2 sim is still working.  So I rang Vodafone - and after 30 minutes fannying about on the phone they have said that the Carphone Warehouse have cocked up because they have no record of me at all.  I assume O2 are still charging me - will the Carphone Warehouse be billing me despite the fact I'm not using the network they supplied me with?  Is the contract still valid?  Where do I stand?

Can't go in until tomorrow so would like to know where I stand before I kick up a stink.

Anyone else noticing the battery power on this being pretty poor? Is it down to Android, as that seems to be using up the largest percentage of my battery..

It's a Samsung, they'll release a new one in 3-6 months and this thing will be obsolete, just look at the rest of the Samsung range.
I know that all phones gets replaced over time but samsung are the worst for quick products turn arounds.

Whats the battery life like for the people who have the phone?
I guess I'd be using it for like 12-16 hours a day.

would that be heavy use?

I came from the iphone 4 and dont see much difference. Been using it since 10 with about two hours of web surfing, about 15 song playing through the speakers, gps on and brightness on max and have played around with some
apps and have about 25% battery left, not amazing but better than most phones i have had.

Non-stop?

Would you be using it as a work-phone, as I'm assuming you work in a call-centre to be on the phone that long?

when did the last samsung galaxys get released? Release date was june 2010. The latest galaxy s2 release date was  may 2011 so about the same length of time apple takes to release a new iphone. Not bad IMO

Thanks. I ask because I believe the first Samsung galaxy didn't have a flash, did it?

I know someone who has the Samsung Galaxy 1 and the camera is shit hot on that so I don't doubt this one is spot on too!

Definitely going to be getting this in a month or so just as soon as the nice people at Orange allow me my upgrade.

I don't mean in constant use for that time, just on for that duration.

Maybe a couple of hours of music at max a day. Not massive use.

Ok so I've decided to buy this phone this weekend. Can someone who has the phone say if there are any issues with it? Is it worth the money because here in India it's pretty expensive. I'll be spending about a month's salary on it! ;D

Woah!! It's an awesome handset, had no issues with mine as yet. Personally wouldn't spend a months salary on one but then I wouldn't spend that on any phone!

I've been reading on various forums about some major battery drain issues. It's the only thing putting me off this phone. Anyone here had battery issues?

got the phone on friday...quite impressed.  Still trying to browse through the apps and their options but having some problem when connecting it to computer.  It is saying some files failed the installation, but I dont think it is blocking me from importing or extracting files from the phone.  Did everyone get a memory card with the phone?  I didnt :(

Samsung Galaxy S2 has a 1080p camcorder function as well.

As for not putting money into Chelsea's sponsors: Are you serious?

Looking to get myself one of these this week. I took a swim with my last phone, but I'm happy I did because it was a Nokia N97 and it's a good excuse to get this one.
