Despite the result I feel a lot better about our performance. Shame we couldn't at least score one though. Looking forward to the rest of the season now!

we got robbed but proud performance from the team. I didnt like the last substitution.
Good performance for Reina, Kelly did ok but he did get beaten by giggs from time to time.
Gerrard needs to be more careful.

Missed the penalty incident, but the SG sending off was harsh.

Best away performance of the season, not a classic match by any stretch of the imagination but a vast improvement on any away tie, even Bolton.

Webb the defining factor yet again, though.

Howard Webb MOTM.

Was all over the pitch, had the assist for Yernited's goal. Bossed midfield, such was his influence you'd think Gerrard wasn't even on the pitch. Was a danger with every set piece of the match and was only let down by his team mates to keep the score @ 1-0.

Its been clear to me, that United are over-rated..

We had man down..(Gerrard) And we have just come out of the shell thanks to Legend Kenny, we played better than United....and That was not a penalty...Lucky united, ONCE AGAIN

Lots of positives - high line, pressing, very few hoofs, attacking away from home, players look much better already, we weren't outplayed at all even though it was 12 v 10 for most of it... never felt this pleased after a defeat at the pit!

Not kneejerk, been thinking this for, i dont know .. about 14 years.

Anyway, if i owned LFC i would simply refuse to let my team play United every year. Sure they get 6 free points, big deal.

Joke of a penalty. The way I saw the sending off, I thought it was one of those that you're upset with when it's against your team, but you'd be demanding a red if it was against yours. Gerrard should know better to be diving in like that at the toilet.

Otherwise I thought we played alright, defended well, looked more up for it. Certainly a better performance than the damp squib that would have inevitably happened under Roy.

Never a penalty, blatant red card though. Gerrard will never learn - he's got away with plenty of these in the past. They could have had a penalty towards the end, but obviously the mistake in the 1st minute doesnt cancel it out.

despite the fact the ref screwed us over, it was nice to see us playing attacking football. Can't fault the players today they all gave it 100% the subs all done well and added a bit extra it was just good to see an attacking intent im sure roy would have waited till the 80th minute before he brought subs on. It was also good to see the players playing with a bit of passion and intent despite the fact we lost (contraversially) we can be proud of the way we played. (and we have not said that for a long time

Game ruined less than a minute in by Howard Webb. Positives for us is that the quality of the football and commitment is probably the best we've had all season. Glad to see Kenny is willing to give the youngsters (Babel, Shelvey, Ngog, Kelly) the nod, when the experienced players aren't pulling their weight. Blooding in these youngsters for the remainder of this season is going to be important. Outstanding performance by Martin Kelly.

You know what, we lost. But the transformation of effort, passion and pride of this side with just a few hours with kenny is massive.

We were always going to tire int he second half, Lucas looked dead on his feet around 87 mins. On another day, that free kick goes in and we take them back to anfield. These things happen.

I'm fucking proud of the lads who played all the 90 today. Massive, massive pride. That was more like it and i'm actually feeling massively positive about the rest of the season.

At the end of the day, it's Howard Webb 1, us 0. Again.
