A very boring tennis double of Dolgopolov (vs. Seppi) and Stakhovsky (vs. Monaco) for me today @ 2.15.

A lot has already been said about Dolgo this year with myself and Paddy being fans so I won't bore you with the continued lovefest but Seppi's nothing more than a solid baseliner who won't be able to handle either Dolgo's pace and variation if he gets embroiled in baseline exchanges. Seppi's only chance is to finish points early as the slower conditions in Miami suit Dolgo's game more and I don't think he has the consistency in his game to do so.

Stakhovsky is the gamble here. He played well in his first round match here against Dimitrov and got through what could have been a tricky test in straight sets and with relative ease. His start to the year has been solid with a string of last 16 appearances and of his 5 defeats only 1 has been top a player outside of the top 25 (Robredo in 4 at the Aussie Open) so he's getting beat by good players. Monaco on the other hand is a clay courter who (Shanghai last year aside) has a rather pitiful record on the outdoor hard courts in recent times. He had a strange match last time in Indian Wells against Sweeting where he lost 6-1, 0-6, 6-1 and a similarly poor serving performance today will see him get ousted with ease as Stakhovsky won't give up many if any chances on his service games.

Debated adding the Huddersfield Giants to make it a treble but I'll stick with the tennis.

Gotta laugh, I've been signing up for bookies free bets and backing/laying recently to get their free cash.

I've just backed a random horse (Meridiem, Towcaster 2.30) at 9.0 on William Hill using their £25 free bet and layed it on Betfair at 11.0. Guaranteed around a £20 win.

Horse drifted and the starting price went to 15, unknown to me I didn't check the 'retain selection' box so instead of backing at 9 I actually backed at SP.

Happy Days.

I backed the 2nd fave in that at 7/1, went off at 11/2.

Of course he fell when in last, but the important thing is I got the value.

I've backed David Ferrer twice all season and both times he's lost.

Limped out to Nieminen in Rotterdam and he's lost 7 of the last 8 games against Mardy Fish who has done nothing to earn what on paper will look a comfortable victory.

Gash, cost me a potential packet. I hope Clijsters loses tonight now.

On of my 'Nag Me' alerts have pointed out a horse i am watching from last season -  Captain Dancer is running in the 17.30 at Curragh today.

By no means a cert but a nice EW prospect at 16-1 best with SKYBET.

Hi guys,

I haven't posted for about 6 months and nothing of substance for about a year which to be honest isnt that bad otherwise any followers would have made substantial losses!!

Anyway, got a mate, used to post his tips on here but i haven't heard from him for a while. He always did OK, but got a text tonight:

'Just had a call from barry had 500 on oceanic club 740 kepton tomorrow his mate at nosedas has been riding it and says it will win tomorrow back it now at 11/4 will be 2's tomorrow if you can put 200 on for me at 11-4 i'll pay you back if it loses'

make of that what you will, done 200 for my mate and 100 for me.

how u all doing? i see the bets threads generally have gone down hill!

Larghetto is expected to be placed at least tonight, well they are expecting it to run well, and its about 16's, the guy who gave me this is usually so reliable and doesn't give me many, 7.35 dundalk
they are a bit worried about the draw but hope it will be good enough to overcome it.
dont blame me if it loses :-[ but i went heavy enough on it each way
if you wanna be the best you gotta beat the best

I'll make two predictions of this...Carroll won't score 3 PL goals total for the rest of the year and we won't score 5 against any team all year.  We might still get CL football without either happening.

Had a tip off my friend on a horse -

Captain Kolo in the 6pm at Haydock.

It's currently the favourite (5/1 on Paddy Power), so I've just stuck a few quid on out of interest. I don't know much about horses, and I'm not sure how good this tip is likely to be, but thought I'd share.

One of my Sporting Life 'Nag me' alerts have alerted me to a horse ive been waiting for to run again.

Resuscitator in the 18:30 at Wolverhampton. Won impressivley over 1M at Lingfiled last time out and stepping up from a class 6 to class 5 shouldnt make too much difference.

Favourite Jocky Eddie Ahern onboard I really do fancy this and 17/2 is mighty generous in my opinion  (famous last words).

Ok my Hat-trick hero Resuscitator runs again today in a Class 3 at Kempton 16:00.

Big step up in class this time with tougher opponents but i really do like this horse.

Ive had quite a big EW wager but am now really worried that I've bollocksed up as the AW master Eddie Ahern isnt getting the usual ride and instead Royston Ffrench in onboard. 1 win in fucking 24 rides for Royston.

Fingers crossed and worth a few EW pounds at 18-1 Coral if anyone is interested.

Judd Trump is surely a nice price @ 1.6 to beat the corrupt c*nt Higgins? 10-7, but could and should have been a lot worse for Higgo. Don't think Trump is too fussed about the pressure. Loading up.

I also like Mardy Fish to beat John Isner @ 1.65.

Down Royal 2.40. Strandfield Bay. Currently 36's on betfair, was shortening industry though, think it's 13/2 in Boyles. Outside chance.
