But I will not spend one penny more on LFC until they have gone... no more matches, no more shirts for the kids, no more nothing.

That's me done. I didn't sign up for this near 50 years ago, and those who wanted him out, you're welcome to it... a classless shell of a once mighty club, with phone in loving "supporters" to match.

An absolute crying shame.

Regardless of whether or not you wanted him out, this is not the way it should have been handled, and I for one, am utterly disgusted at what's happened to this club since G+H took over. From being fingertips away from immortality last year, to pushing out the man who has helped re-establish Liverpool FC as a European powerhouse, and slowly but steadily improved our standings in the league, on a paper thin budget, with the most vile, xenophobic media in the entire planet, to be forced out by 2 money-hungry fucking cockgobbling American pieces of shit, after one mediocre season. Just fuck off, we'll make Leeds look like nothing the way we're going. Off ya go Gerrard, off ya go Torres, off ya go Masch, off ya go Pepe.

Fuming, feel like finding out where those yanks live and blowing up their fucking houses, utter vermin.

Ah well, bring on all the Lucas hating, Rafa bashing clueless wobblers who know fuck all about what's wrong with this club to talk about how tops it is that we can now get in the likes of Martin O'Neill or whoever the fuck these bellends put in as their "Yes Man", because mark my words, that's who's coming in. Thank you Rafa for fighting tooth and nail for this club, for exemplifying the Liverpool way, for being willing to go toe to toe with the suits in an attempt to create something special, and reignite a giant that's been slumbering for 20 years. Hope you go to Inter Milan and win every god damn fucking trophy available to you, because you deserve the best mate, you really do.

Until this club is cleansed of the cancer eating away at the top, we are dying a slow, and painful death. This was just the first loss, there will be many more.

Very sad, if inevitable, news. Good luck, Rafa. I was overjoyed when he joined six years ago. Thought we had a winner, a man who could make us great again. For his own sanity, it's probably best. He needs to be somewhere were he can actually coach and manage a team rather than dealing with the shite he's been fed on a weekly basis by the Yank fuckers.

Absolutely massive massive mistake on the clubs part in my opinion.

Rafa is still and always will be an absolutely legend and will always have a special place in my heart for bring about the best day of my life in 2005.

I'll always appreciate everything you did for my club and for fighting your hardest to make it great again when all the odds were constantly stacked against you.

His treatment by the club has been disgusting and I know he'll be a success wherever he ends up and will be properly appreciated.

Rafa was truly amazing for this years, to make something out of this stupid financial situation..he bought great players for bargain..

now he is leaving even if majority of fans dont want it..

i wish the owners will just sell our club and the new ones will hire Rafa again..

This is about more than the manager. We've lost the one person at the club who knew the game Hicks and Gillett were playing and they've shoved him out the door. No way can we afford to buy anyone, get a good manager, we're paying out shitloads in just interest and I wouldn't be suprised if we get asset stripped now that Benitez has gone.

Thank you Rafa for being part of this football club. For Istanbul. For Cardiff. For some of the greaest games I've seen us involved in. For being dignified when you were being attacked by other managers, the media, our own fans.

I'd really like to write more right now but am pretty upset. I'm sure someone can write how I'm feeling far more eloquently than I can.

Well, Carragher will be pleased that at least he can sign his new contract now.

Sad that it came to this, and in the end he didn't have any further fight left in him - not that I can blame him with Inter waiting in the wings. But it just makes it even more imperative now that the pressure is cranked up on RBS (citing Hicks' default and recent bankruptcy filing) and have them foreclose and expedite the sale process. Otherwise, this situation is only going to get worse not better.
