i dont drive trucks and never will
but one sign stuck out with me on the front of a truck once "if you cant see me i cant see you"
you have to give them some lee way when they are driving one. whos to say that driver didnt pull out infront of him when he shouldnt have
careless driving from the truckie, yes, hard to argue that but yet i can understand why it possibly happened
The usual way is that the car comes up alongside the truck then pulls into the lane in front of it, without realising the truck hasn't seen him, car then spins and goes across the front of the truck, driver feels a slight bump, which you think nothing of as it'll feel no worse than hitting a pothole and then 13ltrs of engine kicking out 450BHP and 2500nm of torque merrily carries on its way, our kid has actually seen 7 people die in that kind of accident, a woman in a Fiesta was killed as it rolled, the fella in the BMW Z3 convertible was just squashed flat under the trailer wheels, but the worst was a Peugeot 307 as that cartwheeled and the kids came flying out of the windows, the parents died inside the car.
One of the drivers at our kids place was being backed down an entry into a yard, the fella guiding him wasn't paying attention, too busy on his phone, so didn't notice the trailer hit a brand new Mercedes that was parked up - driver didn't feel it and pushed it 42ft before soft bollocks on the phone noticed - car was a total loss.
