really,why?

It would do wonders for the confidence of the team if we went out tonight. It wouldn't affect us finanacially either!! FFS he can take the likes of nando and stevie off if we're crusing until then what's the point on risking a weakened team??

There you go.

Thats a pretty frustrating lineup i have to say. Arbeloa and Kuyt offer NOTHING down that right side.

Watch Kuyt get the winner from an Arbeloa assist now.

Skrtel is interesting.
Happy to see Aurelio in there.
Babel the super sub on the bench.

Bring it on!

Here are the subs

Subs: Cavalieri, Dossena, Agger, Plessis, Spearing, El Zhar, Babel.

Not too many offensive options coming off the bench.  Hope we can net a couple early goals.

why come into a pre-match thread to pursue a vendetta against the manager?

aside from which, did you watch the first game? they are a good team, if we put the kids out there's a chance we could get turned over. we dont play for four days and there's an international break after that. im sure most players will manage to play both games

Rafa once again afraid of losing in his favored comp. Playing his PL lineup in a simple qualifying game.Villa away is a more important fixture.

Yes, lets play the youngsters, after all our first 11 turned them over with ease at their place, now they the away goal rule in their favour as well.......baffling post !

Virtually the same side struggled away from home, & I admit I'd not be in the slightest bit surprised to see it struggle again. TOBH without Masch allowing Gerrard further forward, & dropping preferably Benayoun, we're far from a strong side. Different altogether I htink with Masch, Alonso & Gerrard getting a grip on the middle.

surprised babel is not starting
rafa must think aurellio is better defensively than dossena for such a big game

also expect a big game from Martin

no voronin or pennant on the bench

why is Ngog always not on the bench for CL?
is he registered in the CL team?

Hopefully, though tobh I think I might be happier Agger coming into the middle than Plessis. Hopefully will matter little, though if the first 11 aren't doing it I'd not be getting too excited about the bench.

Not at all nervous.
Not at all concerned.

They were a side who I knew would cause us a few problems in the first leg, even though there were loads of people disrespecting them and saying we would win 3-0 or 4-0. Having said that, I just have full confidence in what we can do when we need to, and tonight will be proof of that.

2-0.

Any chance we can't get a load of people calling our own players c*nts, or doubting the team or Rafa if we aren't 3 up after 10 minutes?

I wouldn't bet on it

nice line-up but i think that if we go in the second half still tied, insted of alonso dmf we should enter leiva as a cmf and chanege gerrard to amf, kuyt is a wf keane as ss and king torres as cf while benny is behind kuyt reinforcing is line but that is going all out..

by the way that young franch cf angong, why isn't he getting a chance? he relly impressed me in the pre-sesson matchs...
