I'm a big fan of the summer when the temperature is relatively hot, but a day like today is just tough. The humidity is a killer. I have no idea how people in hot climates can live in these conditions.

Summer. Yes or No?

Not a huge fan of the humidity , the heat is pretty good though. Does England have central heating / cooling? I can't remember.

Greatest invention ever.

Then coming from SA its sunshine all the way. Hated the weather in London.

Central Heating is a given but most residential properties don't have air con (and in fairness it's normally only one week a year when stuff gets uncomfortable!).

Being in work when its very hot is shit. But having the day off when it is hot is brilliant.

BBQs, warm light nights, not having to wear layer upon layer, cold refreshing beer and most people are generally happier when it is hot.

But heyfever…

I grew up in a hot part of Brazil and have always hated Summer with a blind passion. I could never get used to it, always very uncomfortable and possibly the main reason why I am such an introvert - my room was dark and had air con.

Today I am one of the bitterest people in Britain. It's like a throwback to the days of living in the pits of hell. Except there's no air conditioned escape.

Not that I hate Summer per se, but it's just too hot and humid today. Can't enjoy Summery things properly.

It's not as if the sun has been cracking the flags all day. It's a muggy type of heat that just isn't enjoyable and to be honest anybody saying that it is is either lying or from another planet. Yesterday evening I took a walk around Croxteth Park at about 7pm, it was about 25 degrees and the sun was out and it was absolutely glorious. 7 or 8 degrees hotter today and with the sun hiding behind the clouds and the air being muggy? No, it's not enjoyable at all.

I live in southern Virginia where hot temps in the middle of summer can be 30-32C for an entire week at a time

I fucking love it

and every time it gets absolutely bastard hot I roll my window down on the way to work

being hot and sweaty is a reminder I do not live in a cold wet country anymore

(although I do miss a beautiful English summers evenings in a nice pub beer garden and walking home in failing sun light)

I'm fine with summer but it's just too hot for me just now. If I could choose the weather to be one way every day for the rest of my life it would be bright and sunny, about 18°C. That's perfect to me, once we get into the mid 20s and above I just find it uncomfortable.
