Anyone here watched Oliver Stone's Untold History of the United States? Its a ten part series that aired in 2012. I don't have Sky but I think someone mentioned it had been shown on Sky Atlantic in the past year or so.

Cheers, I'll give it a go. Will probably be furious when I've watched it.
Manchester United could win fifty titles, but they will always be the Rolling Stones of football. Good, just not quite that band from Liverpool.

Can't find any if these. Is it because of my location (Ireland).

Been on a Netflix Documentary binge.

Art Of Conflict - About The Murals in Northern Ireland. Thought it was good.
Bull Runners of Pamplona - Name explains it. Very good.
The Bridge - About the Golden Gate Bridge and its issue with suicide.

And pretty much every Louis Theroux documentary on there!

Soccer Coach Zoran and his African Tigers

Anyone seen this? It's about the South Sudan national team, thought it was excellent and portrayed the issues of the country brilliantly alongside the story of the team.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b03wctxp/Storyville_20132014_Soccer_Coach_Zoran_and_his_African_Tigers/

I did a bit of reading on Wiki afterwards and it seems like even though the doc makes it appear that the coach is setting up the team, he wasn't the first coach. It also seems that the team played one game before the Uganda match on the doc, but it was their first international match.

Still, a great story which I was pretty blown away by. Really recommend.
Watched this yesterday. As you say, the problems of the coach deftly mingled with the problems of a prematurely born country.

I have to admit I was thinking of PhaseofPlay and the other coaches on here. Forget pascoe, is he zoran?

Just saw it,thanks a lot for the recommendation.

Such a heartbreaking documentary. It just makes you feel disgusted about people.

On the other hand I have mixed feelings for those trainers, you can tell many are attached and love the killer whales,
and helped a lot for this documentary. They are probably being used for some silly amount of money in danger as a trainer too.

The maker of Shoah,Claude Lanzmann has another film out this year.

The Last of the Unjust.

A place: Theresienstadt. A unique place of propaganda which Adolf Eichmann called the "model ghetto", designed to mislead the world and Jewish people regarding its real nature, to be the last step before the gas chamber. A man: Benjamin Murmelstein, last president of the Theresienstadt Jewish Council, a fallen hero condemned to exile, who was forced to negotiate day after day from 1938 until the end of the war with Eichmann, to whose trial Murmelstein wasn't even called to testify. Even though he was without a doubt the one who knew the Nazi executioner best. More than twenty-five years after Shoah, Claude Lanzmann's new film reveals a little-known yet fundamental aspect of the Holocaust, and sheds light on the origins of the "Final Solution" like never before.
