It is possible but there would be a very likely chance it would brick the hardware you are attempting it on :wave

I reckon either Microsoft or Apple should sign up Smiff and Nidgemo for the next round of advertising.

Smiff, since I got my mac, I've found that birds have been asking me asking me to help with planning their interior decorating, it might just be because the sun is out and they are decorating more, but people definitely seem to value my opinion on colours now.
"All the lads have been talking about is walking out in front of the Kop, with 40,000 singing 'You'll Never Walk Alone'," Collins told BBC Radio Solent. "All the money in the world couldn't buy that feeling," he added.

I think we have an early nomination for RAWK thread of the year.
I fear for any newbies that venture into the technology and science board and find this one first.

Brilliant.
I can see the new advertising campaign now.

Seeing as this is the science forum, we could do an experiment- get gobbling and compare the tastes. If they're the same, you're a chutney ferret and have to stick with the Mac. If not, you're still allowed to use a PC- the computer of real men.

I don't think I can eat in Nando's ever again.

b. your own

It's only fair that he takes it out at least long enough to let wacko get his tounge jammed up there a while...
:lmao
so if i plug say a wireless usb card into a mac and it doesnt recognise it, is it a simple case of like in windows, get the installer package from the website and run it, then plug the card in again

or is there some stupid mac way of doing this
Nope. Download and install the drivers. IF there are any available. Just like Windows.
i wonder is it possible to put a blank firmware onto something, i suspect no ones ever tried as it would be quite quite pointless
No reason why it shouldn't be. But as you say, quite pointless (unless you want to fuck up your mate's hardware), so I can't imagine why anyone would bother creating one.
i downgraded my psp the very first time it came out so i could play games from the memory card, likewise my 360

dunno why people are afraid of these things
Because it's one of the very few things that, if it does go wrong, will destroy your system. If you're very lucky, and you get the BIOS battery out of your motherboard sharpish and leave it out for a day or two, your system might be okay. Or use a Gigabyte mobo. They come with (or at least used to) two BIOS chips in case you fuck one up.

Wow Mulfella, how much are Smiff and Muddy paying you, you may need to remove your tongue from their arses soon  :D

 :lmao

Because I agree with them over Nidgemo making a fool of himself?

Distinct lack of macolytes over the last few pages defending him, they're usually out in force. Wonder why?

Still its a bit pointless as he'll never admit that he's wrong. :butt

To be fair I didn't understand the otherside of the argument......sounded like you all had a mouthful ;)

I didn't support Nidge for 2 reasons........

1. I was busy at with work for once.
2. It all went totally over my head. I plug the wireless in and it works.....that is all that matters really.

Hacking and other such bollocks does not bother me in the slightest....my hole is gaping and wide so people can hijack as they see fit.

Guys, if I create a Director file on my Mac and stick it on a USB pen and edit it on a Windows, will it still work/open?

I have a project to do for University and I don't want to start it on my Mac if it's not going to work on Windows, which is what the tutor will be viewing it on.
