Because IE is used to surf all over the web it's an obvious target. I don't know what Mozilla do to make firefox more secure.
Any other app is probably as holey, but it's difficult to exploit other apps as you have to persuade a user to open a specific file in that app. With a browser, all they have to do is look at your site.

IE7 'seems' far more secure and I'm sure it should be harder to exploit. The problem I'm finding is that it's almost unuseable and I have to keep lowering security settings in it.

The main problem with IE is that it's integrated into the OS (Explorer uses bits of it etc), so any problems with it are potentially more serious than with other browsers. I agree though that IE 7 is a lot more secure, I stopped using it because you now can't customise it as you used to be able to.

wireless is platform independant.

Therefore you CAN hack into a PC like that. Which, I believe answers the question.

Researchers hack Wi-Fi driver to breach laptop
One of many flaws found allowed them to take over a laptop by exploiting a bug in an 802.11 wireless driver

The hack will be demonstrated at the upcoming Black Hat USA 2006 conference during a presentation by David Maynor, a research engineer with Internet Security Systems and Jon Ellch, a student at the U.S. Naval postgraduate school in Monterey, California.

Device driver hacking is technically challenging, but the field has become more appealing in recent years, thanks in part to new software tools that make it easier for less technically savvy hackers, known as script kiddies, to attack wireless cards, Maynor said in an interview.

The two researchers used an open-source 802.11 hacking tool called LORCON (Loss of Radio Connectivity) to throw an extremely large number of wireless packets at different wireless cards. Hackers use this technique, called fuzzing, to see if they can cause programs to fail, or perhaps even run unauthorized software when they are bombarded with unexpected data.

Using tools like LORCON, Maynor and Ellch were able to discover many examples of wireless device driver flaws, including one that allowed them to take over a laptop by exploiting a bug in an 802.11 wireless driver. They also examined other networking technologies including Bluetooth, Ev-Do (EVolution-Data Only), and HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access).

I need Help with Home PC Security
I just recently had my home PC hacked. The hacker created a new user account and password protected my account and any sub accounts I had. I run Windows XP. Luckily, from the tricks of the trade I was able to regain access to my desktop through a security hole using the Windows installation disk. I was able to delete the new account the hacker created and I changed all the passwords.

I was also able to pull up the security log in event viewer, and saw that he logged into my PC almost every night for the past couple weeks.

I've got this theory, that all 32-36 year olds know Joey is. Nobody else does.
Also to correctly pronounce joey you have to ram your tongue into your lower lip and pretend you're a Neville.

Joey would have used a Mac.
"All the lads have been talking about is walking out in front of the Kop, with 40,000 singing 'You'll Never Walk Alone'," Collins told BBC Radio Solent. "All the money in the world couldn't buy that feeling," he added.

And where the fuck did BELM come from?

EDIT: A mere 31. Anyone younger remember Joey?

I'll have to revise my theory and say it's 30 somethings that know Joey.

I've never seen BELM before though. Maybe because as an OOTer I don't go near Woodison.

PC's have been hacked through their wireless. Otherwise there would be no need for all the security, firewalls etc.
