Heligoland is a masterpiece.

If you don't agree go & listen to it until you do. It's fucking brilliant.

Especially Atlas Air. A truly brutal sing about a truly brutal subject.

I think I will have to go back and check it out. It didn't do much for me last time I listened. In the meantime, here's Mark Lanegan in Twilight Singers mode doing a lovely, sleazy cover of "Live With Me":

Ok, I'm going to be honest... Side one is merely brilliant, it's side 2 that is utterly incredible.

There are dozens & dozens of recording artists who wish they were half as good as del naja & co...

Indeed. Unfinished Sympathy in particular still gives me the chills. Wonderful band.

They have done some absolute stonking songs.

Unfinished sympathy.
Karmacoma.
Angel.
Teardrop.
Inertia Creeps.
Protection.
I Against I.
Safe From harm.
Five Man Army.

Hymn of the Big Wheel

Atlas Air

One of my Top 5 gigs was them on the Sydney Opera House stairs back in 2010. But one of my fondest memories is walking into my parents house with my mates for a weekend away and my 70+ year old dad has Karamcoma at about 11 on his stereo. They're one of his favourite bands.
And all the world is football shaped, It's just for me to kick in space. And I can see, hear, smell, touch, taste.

Unfinished Sympathy was the tune I walked into my wedding to.  Not the reception, the actual service.

It had a special meaning to us, still does and always will but agreed they've done plenty of equally good stuff.

That’s cool!  ... and hats off to the organ player 😁
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain

I've just made a Massive Attack compilation CD for my car, and I forgot to put that one in.  :butt *Shakes Head*

Been listening to them a lot in the last week seeing the talk of it being 30 years since Blue Lines. Absolutely brilliant. Don't really have anything constructive to add ;D
