anyone got a picture of rafa and kenny when they met at the training ground in the week leading up to the legends game recently. Saw a clip of it on tv in the build up to the game. Two legends of the club who had a mutual respect of each other.

don't suppose there's an mp3 floating round of his interview after istanbul?

"i say to the players at half time, maybe if we escore, is different, and we escore... and is different".

fave quote ever.

Couldn't agree more. The whole context of when he said it, live on TV in the immediate aftermath of the most epic CL final ever, bedlam all around him. Cool as der cucumber.

Just to be up close to the Rafatollah in the streets of Cardiff this year was amazing!
Has Steven Gerrard scored a goal even more important than the one he got against Olympiakos - Is this the start of something BIG?

Quality quote:

"The other day I was surprised. I saw an old photo and I said to my wife..." His voice trails off as he flicks backwards and forwards through the relevant chapter. "Is the photo here? Yes, this one."

It's a shot of Real Madrid's Under-18 side from season 1986/87. He traces his finger from left to right across the players in the back row then their crouching team-mates at the front, and starts to recite. "I said to her: 1.82, 1.84, 1.82, 1.79, 1.87, 1.76, 1.88, 1.84, 1.86, 1.79, 1.68, 1.72, 1.74, 1.69, 1.78, 1.73, 1.68."

These are the individual heights, in metres, of a group of teenagers that he coached almost 20 years ago."

There are some bloody tall teenagers here! (especially because it is a spanish team)!

Was fortunate to shake hands with the man at the recent Youth Cup Final at Anfield, felt like i'd shook hands with God himself.  Didn't wash my hand for a while - I know, i know !!  But it was Rafa Benitez you know..  :wave

what? A handshake from Robbie is worth more than a handshake from Rafa??;D

Sorry, had to be done

Wow, excellent link mate. Just goes to show how meticulous Rafa's work is and keeps convincing me that we couldn't have a man more suited for the job.

2 years ago yesterday, Rafa joined the Reds!

Vid of his first press conference:

how quiet and shy does he sound there  ;D

Looking at that pic - Benitez seems to have put on quite a bit of weight since his arrival. He must enjoy the English cuisine.

Rafa's signal for shoot!

Rafa gets bored and starts playing with a bouncy ball as Pardew's West Ham are no match for his men.

I met him on Friday at Anfield just outside the Reducate doors, he stopped for pics, chatted and even tho he was in a hurry and my camera was arsey, waited with grace and humour until i got it fixed, even though it was clear he was in a hurry for a meeting. It was clear that for him the fans come first. The flash didn't go off and he said, i think you need the light.  He chatted about the Bellamy deal and was all in all a total gentleman.  His stock has risen yet further. A Legend

Rafa on THAT half time talk.  Language barriers aside, the greatest modesty and understatement in football history!!!

Was thinking that myself recently. It's all just another brilliant Rafa scheme to keep him warm through the harsh winter months. Thought he also looked a bit younger when he first came, but that's inevitable really.
