I'm sure I've seen a pic where someone has made Rafa look like the famous picture of Che Guevara, the one that appears on all the t-shirts. Can't find it anywhere though, anyone seen it?

isn't it nice how simply looking at rafa makes you smile

his little fat belly, cheeky smile. i love him.

"But I work for Liverpool, where I will carry on next season, and on this basis there is no point speculating any more.

"I'm happy at Liverpool because they have always treated me well and I want to have a lot more success there.

"The truth is that I'm still a young coach and life is long. I don't know where I could end up."

Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo found it funny that arch-rival Martin had been trying to sweet-talk Benitez at an awards ceremony in Madrid on Monday.

He said: "Having Benitez here was like having a beautiful woman at a party and everyone wanting to talk to her."

Rafa has many fine qualities, but he's not often compared to a beautiful woman.

We are lucky as fuck. The man has given us so much and will give us soo much more. We had a glimpse of the promised land in the treble season but this is the real deal my friends. Just sit back and enjoy the ride because it is going to be a good un.

Had the chance of meeting Rafa at the Lisbon airport after the Benfica away match. Asked him about the possibility of taking a pic with him, and he replied "for sure."  ;D ;D Typical Rafa, class as always. Great little memory that one.   :D

Looks like Garstonite is the owner of Paco Lloretīs Rafa autobiography.

Just finished reading that book few days ago, was a great read and enjoyed it very much.

Great thread, and some fantastic photos! :wave

The above one always cracks me up! lol. Rafa, he so embarrassed.  ;D He's a quality guy. Humble, honest, and just brilliant. Rafa and Gerrard seem to have a mutual respect thing going on too, going by some of those pictures. Hopefully this partnership continues for a long time.

Quality quote:

"The other day I was surprised. I saw an old photo and I said to my wife..." His voice trails off as he flicks backwards and forwards through the relevant chapter. "Is the photo here? Yes, this one."

It's a shot of Real Madrid's Under-18 side from season 1986/87. He traces his finger from left to right across the players in the back row then their crouching team-mates at the front, and starts to recite. "I said to her: 1.82, 1.84, 1.82, 1.79, 1.87, 1.76, 1.88, 1.84, 1.86, 1.79, 1.68, 1.72, 1.74, 1.69, 1.78, 1.73, 1.68."

These are the individual heights, in metres, of a group of teenagers that he coached almost 20 years ago."

"i say to the players at half time, maybe if we escore, is different, and we escore... and is different".
