I know where you're coming from but I felt no need for class-a's last night, a couple of beers and a few joints were enough, that show induced the feeling of being off yer tits without taking anything.

If I were to see them again though I will be going more prepared.

You are spot on there actually. A flaming lips gig is as close to a feeling of being off your chops as you can get without actually being on anything. Had tickets to see them in London tonight but on holiday instead. Gutted to be missing it.

What a great show they put on.  Saw them last year with Dream Theater as the opener at PNC Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ.

It was fantastic as usual! If there was one flaw it had to be the songs from the latest album. I'm sorry but they just don't do it for me. The only thing to keep me afloat for the first 5 songs was 2 mins to midnight as song no. 3. However they ended with a load of the classics ie. Number of the Beast, Iron Maiden etc. Fanbloodytastic is was! The free bar @ Tuborg's VIP bar didn't make the night less great... ;)

HOP FARM-
Friday night  Bryan Ferry, brilliant and cool, and in the tent the magical Human League.

Saturday had a few highs and lows, Lou Reed, my musical hero, was fucking shite.Played
like he didn't want to be there, and songs that only his hardcore fans would know. Not fest music at all.
Then on pops the loon Iggy Pop.Mad as fuck, like a kid on too many smarties.
THEN......

MANU FUCKING CHAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That was the nuttiest time i've experienced at a live gig. All over the shop, from reggae to ska to punk to
Latino to everything. All at a mad mad tempo.

Sunday was a day of pleasure, from the toe tapping begining from Eliza Doolittle, through to the Bass thumping
Larry Graham, add a touch of that Tiny Tempah fella ,to the most musically brilliant 2 hours of my life,PRINCE.

Any one else go Chester rocks last night , wasn't expecting too much but was very good in places.
Amsterdam on the alternative stage and Leftfield on the main were both highlights.

Just got back from Croatia this evening, Hideout festival was absolutely buzzing. Beautiful place, beautiful weather and lots of beautiful people!
The fact that it was and absolutely sick rave just made it the perfect weekend, Definitely going back next year.
Among others Chase and status, pendulum, 2many Djs, crosstown rebels... but for me Andy C absolutely killed it, one of the best sets i've ever witnessed (yes, i'm a bit of a Drum n Bass addict).
Zrca beach on the island of pag is a wicked place, 3 clubs and a nice bar, all open air, friendly staff. Had a wicked time and i'd highly recommend it.
Was very, very messy!

For any Irish or anyone who's attended 'Oxegen'..., specifics aside, these are the kind of reasons I stopped going to this shite about 6 years ago.

Not being able to catch a band for fear of returning to find your tent burnt out is not my idea of a good weekend.

Saw Roger Daltrey last night - first half of the show they did Tommy and in the second various other Who songs plus some random stuff including Ring Of Fire

The guy has still got a great voice at 67 and has got a great band around him including Townsend's brother

Daltrey said the Who weren't finished and as soon as Pete gets his hearing sorted they'll be back

From today. At the end of the article, it says people are leaving already.

Five teens injured in overnight slashing assault at Oxegen campsite

http://www.thejournal.ie/five-teens-injured-in-overnight-oxegen-slashing-assault-173499-Jul2011/

The previous two years, there's been dozens of slashing injuries at this shite they call a 'festival'. People randomly walking around the crowd slashing people's thighs and calfs. Fuck that. What kind of c*nt brings a knife to a music festival? I'd rather iron my sack than be there at the moment.
