Hating people because of their color is wrong. And it doesn't matter which color does the hating. It's just plain wrong.

Always like him as a player. He's world class, and there will always a place for him even on the best teams. It's up to the manager on how to use and motivate him well. I don't know how he does it, but it seems like Gerrard has this 'power' over managers, even the best one like Rafa and Capello. So, I don't know if Gerrard will listen to Rodgers, though.

Rafa and Capello are the two managers that Stevie didn't have any "power" over. They ignored his beleif that he is best suited in the middle of the park and instead, they played to his strentghs and in Rafa's case, the team benifitted as did he.

I'm sure his power also made him play as a RB last season when Reina (or someone else) was sent off. Also told Kenny to "fuck off". What a classless twat.  ::)

[RAWK rumour. Never happened.]

This would be the same Rafa who spent a season with Gerrard before starting him in centremid for the most important game of the season against Milan?

Gerrard can play in the middle but he's more effective just off the striker.  Put Gerrard in the Barca team and he wouldn't be trying to force it with hollywood balls, etc, and would be fine in the middle.  The problem he has is that he's nearly always been the best player in the team - if he were surrounded by players who are better than him then he wouldn't feel that the onus is on him to create everything.

And given how the first half went, it was probably the biggest tactical mistake he ever made. Something he sorted out for the second half and then for the next season when Gerrard had his most productive season 05/06 on the right.

Would you still consider him the best player on our team?
It's a website mate. Names can't be named. If they were, there'd be mutiny. If they aren't, people will scream ... ask for proof. But you will never find 100% proof of anything on here. So, .. look at all evidence, weigh everything up and make a decision.

In any order Agger, Suarez and Lucas are comfortably our current best players going by their performances over the last couple of seasons and their importance to the team. If we lose them we're not the same team, if we lose Gerrard we often play better.

Rodgers system is going to add a couple of years to Gerrard's career.  Once everyone knows where they should be Gerrard will be knocking the ball around for fun.  In that AM position in a possession-based game he won't need to do those forty yard sprints, and he can pass the ball as well as anyone in the team.

Played the full 90 despite plans for him to only play 45.

"Steven was incredible, he was only due to play 45 but he played on and obviously lasted the ninety."
