I'm guessing you haven't seen Dzeko play since ermm fuck knows when the last time Dzeko put in a proper quality performance. Bar a small purple patch he has been dreadful. He looks like an amateur footballer most of the time. Balotelli is miles better than Dzeko. He isn't better than Aguero or Tevez but has got the potential and qualities to be as effective. Aguero hasn't done much recently, you'd be expecting him to stand up while City are going through their crap patch. At least balotelli tries to win and shows some quality.
This is what gets on my nerves. When and where did Balotelli ever consistently match his performances with the praise/hype he gets?
We talk about Aguero, Dzeko and Tevez, who have done brilliantly before coming to ManCity. Balotelli has talent to be as effective as Aguero or Tevez?
Does he fuck, he will never be nearly as good as them.
Now, as for Dzeko, his form and performances became very shit, and I am not going to argue about that. But let's remember how did this happen? Dzeko and Aguero had a brilliant partnership, and both were scoring for fun at the start of the season. Then what did happen? Yes, the famous away game vs Bayern Munich happened, where Dzeko made his frustration felt that he is replaced in every game. After that game, not only Tevez, but Dzeko too, got punished. Mancini is a poor man manager, he shot confidence of his second best striker at the time to pieces. He started benching him or substituting him. Most players won't cope with that, and he didn't.
Now, a counter question. Did Balotelli perform as well as Dzeko did since then? No, he didn't.
PS Let's also remember that Balotelli cannot get a call from Italy NT even if they have one of the worst forward lines in their recent history. Iaquinta? Amauri? Changing citizenship of Osvaldo?
