Every week Arsenal seem to play teams with their best players missing, absolutely no suprise Olise and Eze playing together for first time this season.

Fingers crossed for a big response to to Thursday.

Looks good that, would have maybe put Mac in the 6 and started Elliot instead of Endo.
why? Mac has been fantastic in the more advanced role

Yeah I have no idea why not … makes us better in attack and defence. Playing Endo when better players are fit shouldn’t be a thing at this point. That said it shouldn’t matter home vs palace

Endo and Macca gives us a real issue against teams that counter with pace. Palace have that in spade loads. I would have gone with Macca, Jones and Szobo.

The issue with Salah, Diaz, Elliott and MacAllister in the front 6 is partially lack of height on set pieces. Bradley and Robertson aren’t full backs with great aerial ability as well.

For a lower PL team one of their ways home is keep things tight and look to score off a set piece

In saying all that Palace are one of the worst teams on set pieces this season - statistically. Surprising since they are a big team.

I hear you but for me Szoboszlai isn't doing enough to.warrant a place in the team. Players should be picked on merit.

You mean that design horror show where players are listed by numbers instead of positions?

Thanks, we’re good without it.

The only explanation is we’re playing 2 attacking full backs so it’ll be a bit more double pivot with endo/mac… I mean I still wouldn’t because it’s just a worse 3.. but it makes a bit more sense without Gomez at fb

Yeah can't pretend i am keen on those two playing in tandem again, especially given Endo's performance against Palace earlier this season and his recent shocker given it's another team that will press our midfield to make sure it's him left with time (too much) on the ball, and also press him.

Think that may be the explanation, but still don't like it given the abundance of good 8s we leave out for an inferior midfielder out of form. Feel like we've dicked Elliot around too much lately, to his and to our expense. If Szobo isn't playing, we could do with his dynamism and stamina (not to mention his ability with the ball)

i know, that always drives me nuts, the Cristanbull stuff. By getting up 3-0 we gave ourselves a glimmer of hope where there was none and we went storming forward trying to achieve the impossible, but then we shipped one and the impossible became impossible again, and the air went out of the balloon because it was over for real. Winning the game didn't mean a thing we had to win by a lot.

btw thats our strongest lineup today bar Trent , near as makes no difference. Not sure why all the complaining, i suppose you could put in dom and switch mac to the 6 but if we dont win this then we dont deserve to win the title. not that it will be easy. Actually thing L'Arse may well drop points against villa things could look a lot better in a few hours.
