Swansea is awful as well. Every weekend the people from there come stay in their caravans around us, some of the scummiest and disgusting people I've ever had the pleasure of serving in a pub!

Newport, dump.

I like Cardiff, though don't tend to spend any time in the shitty areas, has some nice places and town is all right apart from the tramps and some of the locals.

No one mentioned Naples yet? It could so easily be great though.

Anyway my shout. Ulaan Baator. Mongolia is a stunningly beautiful country but it's capital city reminds me of something out of Star Wars. It's a dusty concrete communist monolith though the monastery and the Genghis Khan monument are worth going to see. Friendliest people in the world too.

It was a business trip that I got a holiday off the back of because my dad's family live about an hours drive from the border back in Poland. Stayed one night and got the hell out of Dodge. Horrible place.

Can't say that i absolutely hate them but i'm not fond of

Cairo, LA, Orlando, Phuket, Athens, Dubai, Monaco, Cardiff, Norwich, Colombo (although Sri Lanka is fantastic)

I'm ambivalent about Manila, sometimes i like it, often i really really don't

Worst place I've ever been to in the UK.

To put it into context, I've lived in Birmingham for 23 of my 26 years and the first words out of my mouth as I approached Luton town centre were: "Fucking hell, everything's a bit dull and grey."

Sorry, but I simply can't comprehend that. Boston overall is gorgeous, a blend of modern and historic. Whatever rough spots you saw (and every large city has them) are certainly overshadowed by the countless positives.

bryanad dorchester, lowell, or worcester doesn't count lol j/k.

Boston is such a lovely city! There's so much diversity and like soxfan said there's a unique blend I find most cities lack. The T (public transport) will get you anywhere. Shopping and walking on newbury st is great. Having the many universities plus diverse population gives bahston's night life some perks (quick shout-out for my friend's club Risque@ An Tua Nua. Atmosphere in and around fenway is like no other. I don't know what you did there but you have find the hidden gems. The restaurants are just genius Santarpios pizzeria in east boston, mr. bartley's near harvard sq., there's fire and ice, anna's taqueria, quincy market on the north end, I can go on.
There's the Boston harbor islands, for a few bucks you can ride the ferry and go island hoping (hiking, fishing, swimming).

Anyway, Boston does it better than most cities
