Theres a new series of Stephen Merchants The Outlaws next week. Bit surprised as I thought it ended pretty well last time.

I didn't finish the first, so have a nice binge to look forward to.

Unfortunately i remember the days of Man Utd's away kit being white shirt black shorts.  I'd rather we didn't copy them.
They copied us.

We wore white shirts with black shorts as an away kit as early as 1896 and many times in the years between then and now. The Mancs never wore that combination until 1974.

Those are good points and  I wish it was that straightforward. I don’t get why there isn’t more pressure to kick them out or at least mitigate the messages. Sky actually seem very reluctant to touch the 115, probably for some legal clause or because it risks tarnishing the whole thing. So instead they wax lyrical about City and Pep’s unbelievable achievements without important caveats.  For whatever reasons, it seems these sportswashing projects have their grubby influence all over Sky and BT as well.
What’s for sure, they are all digging a deeper and deeper hole that The Premier League and Sky/BT/MSM (by logic) shouldn’t be wanting.  Let’s see where the pressure comes from. It will be needed or the “best” solution for all those parties is a whitewash.

It’ll be because of a wider relationship that Sky have. These countries are acquiring sports (Golf, Boxing etc) that directly effect the revenue streams of these broadcasters. They wouldn’t want to upset the money train. The restrictions come from those relationships - the directive will be to support and advertise all positive aspects (very definition of sports washing) and the unscrupulous wankers at the broadcasters will simply take the highest offer.

I wasnt going to bother with the cup final as it will be a media wank fest whoever wins it especially if the red mancs win or ADFC really batter them. Ive changed my mind now though just in case Ten Hag does something really funny.

If I was Ten Hag theres no way I would quit now and lose any money. I would start the final with 11 shite players (first 11 obviously) then do weird subs like as soon as one of them cocks up (Like Garnacho running fast with the ball then giving it away at the end) taking him off for a full back or someone worse if thats possible. Subbing the subs would be funny too then at the final whistle turn to the big noise seats and give them the finger before walking off. Then sit back and wait for the bank transfer and once that was deposited tell the world what a clusterfuck of a club they were.

I've got no love for Ten Hag, but I agree with you here- there's no way I'd quit and lose that money. Take every last £ from these fuckers, because as much as I laugh at them, how they're going about sacking him is absolutely classless. He basically was sacked via social media. And I love your idea of fielding the worst 11, then doing stupid subs in different positions. Would serve them right if he made them even more comical than they already are. I'd laugh and laugh if they won tomorrow.

According to Goldbridge, they could field pretty much the same XI that has seen 4 managers get the sack. But you know, it's the manager's fault. And the fact they seem to be debating between Tuchel and McKenna shows they have no fucking idea what they want in terms of 'philosophy'. What a clown show.

As a one-off question about Corbyn, why isn't WAP right on his point though.

(and I don't want to turn it to a Corbyn thread for the next few days)

It seems he is very popular because he is an almost ever present at whatever local protest is happening. As a politician it is probably the biggest no brainer to take any opportunity to get your gob on these sort of photo opportunities and then to take whatever credit for anything positive that comes from it - its the job! It does not appear that Corbyn has actually effected any change though, although a good talker by the sound of it. Personally I'd want a bit more from my local MP than bluster.

See I think he's actually one of the managers that likes the media the most. Maybe not likes but one of the happiest to talk and most comfortable in front of a microphone. Just the questions they ask can be so fucking stupid and obviously some of the stories too. He would always do his best to sincerely answer questions in depth. Inevitable it grinds someone down after that long though. I always thought it was worse for someone like him who is happy to talk and go into detail but gets asked such shite!

Great to see him posting on Instagram even if it feels so strange seeing it!

really?! He can’t stand them is the impression I’ve got  ;D

Yes, he likes to talk, and he will talk at length with some of the better journos when he does sit down interviews.  But the day to day media, he’s never hidden the fact he can’t stand doing it, the press conferences etc.

I do think he’ll go back into footy though.  Either Germany coach if the timing works out, or in another role at a German club maybe.  Although he may not want to tear himself away from living in Spain after doing it for a year or two!

So Pep was considered for the top job.

It makes sense.  The pressure and comparisons to Klopp that he would have to deal with would be unbearable.
