Like everybody else, it's hardly surprising. Feel sorry for her family but havent got much sympathy for her really, although that sounds unintentionally callous.

As always though, I expect her death will see her actual status as musician elevated to ridiculous levels. Her record company will make a mint off this.

It's horrible to say, but it was only really a matter of time. A body can only take so much, it's such a shame that she had to go like this. Wasn't her biggest fan, but I appreciated how talented, and also how troubled she was. 27 years of age, 27. Rest in peace Amy, your music will certainly live on for many years.

Gutted, truly gutted. A rare talent, a superb singer. Was lucky to see her at Glastonbury (2007), great set, although she was a mess between songs. The whole thing was very emotional.

actually this is so true.

so many people saying "what a waste of a life" and in a way it was. but most people live full lives (in terms of years) and achieve little of their potential, either through choice or circumstance, enduring "lives of quiet desperation" before fading away.

Lives, which for some reason, are never described as a waste.
