Tbf, if done right then Starship Troopers could be a great film.

Loved it as a kid but the least said about the 2nd and 3rd ones the better.

The first one is a great film. End of.

Didn't say it isn't ;)

Although a remake could be very good depending on what director they get.

Nah don't want to see a remake. They should leave great films alone.

Not sure mate, I don't really find films scary. It is gory and I would definitely recommend it though.

IIRC the director passed away during the shooting of the sequel, and his son filled in for him halfway through production. So it starts off decently and just when it's building up some momentum it shits the bed.

I'd agree with MBL. It's an excellent film - obviously violent but not dumb.

Before seeing it, I saw some of the comments.

You do ACTUALLY KNOW that the Thing made by Carpenter was ALREADY a remake?

Anyway good effects. Good Story. Good plot. Good actors.

Delighted with it. Thought it paid homage and leads the way to a sequel.

It's fucking shite, Andy.

But to be honest, I'm pretty glad you disagree. Makes me feel all the more confident about my opinion.
I trust the King, but if we lose a few more on the trot now - he may have to step aside, and we have to purchase another manager in the middle of the season. If we are relegated, this could be the end of our ambitions to win any title the next 100 years.

You enjoyed it, I'm happy for you.  Rate/review the film, but don't try to lecture anyone regarding not just this film specifically, but film in general.

Why?  Because you're both stunningly ill-informed and boorish when it comes to Cinema.

That's the last time I'm going to have a go at anyone (hopefully) on this thread, as pretty much everyone else is easy going and helpful here.

I really am bored with current movies, and want to see a real classic - some real cinema, something like the lion in winter, not necessarily same genre, but that kind of powerful movie. Any ideas.

What has '82 version being remake got to do with the 2011 film being utterly shit?

Oh yeah, nothing.

The sequel would be the film that this film supposedly is...a remake.  It's all a bit David Lynch.

This sentence makes no sense at all unless you write it as "original".

Coming together is a beginning.
Keeping together is a progress.
Working together is a success.
