Straight swap for Aguero, Adam Johnson, and De Jong...

Wouldn't swap the lad for their whole squad. Even now.

Didn't Rooney also go last season middle east for few days when he was recovering from injury?

It is just the warm weather. Altitude training boosts red blood cells which speeds muscle recovery.

Why not ? If its something beneficial to his recovery the club will surely use it because they have the ability to

It's got to be a good idea getting out there and doing some work in warm weather as opposed to the freezing wind and rain we've had up here.  Stevie is almost doing his pre-season again having had 3 or 4 weeks in a cast and we don't do pre-season training in the arctic circle.

I really really hope he is running without restriction now and it is simply about getting some air in his lungs and some work in his legs. We know the quality will be there almost immediately.

I reckon Boxing Day off the bench to give us the best present we could get.

This should help connect a few of the dots:

http://www.khaleejtimes.com/sport/inside_sport.asp?col=&section=football&xfile=/data/football/2010/August/football_August62.xml

"7 August 2010,
ABU DHABI — Dr Mark Waller, who has more than two decades of experience at Liverpool FC, has been appointed medical services director at the Al Jazira Club. In the role, he will lead a team of 23 staff in looking after all aspects of medical care at the club – from injury prevention, through to nutrition and the rehabilitation of injured players.

Dr Waller joins the club in the run up to the new season and is working closely with the first team coaches to bring added benefits to the squad.

In the coming weeks and months his brief will expand to include the youth academy and those involved in all sports and in all age groups at the club.

He was recruited by the board of directors at Al Jazira Club after they decided the prevention and treatment of injuries needed to be a priority.

“I spent 21 years at Liverpool Football Club and gained a lot of experience in that time,” said Dr Waller"

I assume he's still there.

was never made public to my knowledge. Kenny only answers in his press conferences was "he's progressing brilliant and we wont put a date on it"

He looked a bit thinner when he came back a couple of months ago and looks even more so now. A few people have suggested over the years that he had too much muscle for his skeleton etc and that could of been a cause of some injuries, there was a period of a couple of years where he really bulked up but it looks like he's lost quite a bit.

He looked fit and fast when he last came back so I don't see how another infection will stop him from doing the same this time. By all accounts the surgery on his groin has gone well and that is the most important thing.

If anything, it's given his groin more time to heal too. Proper rest really.

can't wait till he's back and playing again, 'like a new signing' as they say, or 'someone returning from injury' as i would say.
