Just got back from this one, a really good atmosphere. All the classics sung, and it was good to see MacKenzie getting plenty of stick ("Theres only one lying bastard", "If you hate the sun clap your hands" and "Justice for the 96"). Loads of "Don't buy the Sun stickers around" and a few of the Justice and Hillsborough banners, with a few down at the front of NS7. The Wigan fans gave a rendition of "Are you watching Michael Shields" but it was pretty well drowned out. All round a very good atmosphere.
Bad point were seeing the stewards telling the fella to remove the large "Liverpool FC ...... and could they play banner". He had hung it down into the wheelchair enclosure in NS5/NS6 (the enclosures that were accessed by a separate door). It was hanging in front of a brick wall but was also blocking a Heinz advertising board, so had to come down apparently. The fella was fuming though, and rightly so.
But, on the way out, as crossing that stupid little bridge over the canal, there was a group of reds behind us. At first they were singing "Get the woolies out the kop", this then quickly turned into "Get the niggers out the kop". Then it became "someone is white", I couldnt quite make out who they were singing about, but I thought it may have been the momo one. They then concluded with "Everton are racist, Everton are racist, and so are we...na na na na". Seems like we still have a fair share of nobs which I was quite disappointed to see.
