I would say there were about 500 of us in the away section both in Berne and Moscow, but probably half of them were local supporters. That leaves us with 250 regulars. Perhaps 150 of us made it to both games and 100 went to either Berne or Moscow. In theory that means only about 350 should then qualify for the sale on Wednesday. But I bet many more bought tickets and never went.

Makes me feel a bit better however if this was the case, would the club not be able to guarentee the people in the first sale a ticket and then release the details of when it it should drop to all members?

Feel a bit nervous that they are saying 'if any tickets remain' they will release details then. Its like they are confident it will sell out at that but will realease further details if they are wrong??

Like you said, we dont know how many people will have brought a ticket to the previous game and not travelled just to get the credit

Its going to be a long week  :-\
We’ll still finish in top four - and they won’t. You can quote me on this in May.

You're right, they should know how many they've sold for the previous games and the fact they haven't given any details for further sales after, is slightly worrying. Though the thing about the 'if any tickets remain' line is that it's standard for these ticket release statements and may not mean there'll be limited tickets following the initial sale.

Also in the same boat as those waiting for this to drop to general sale, just concerned how many they've given to those guaranteed a ticket through the Thomas Cook trip? Another 500?

How many tickets does that leave to fight over??

Well we've had our flight, hotel and transport booked since August so we'll be there no matter what happens.

A couple of us speak a bit of Italian so hopefully we can talk them round if we have any difficulties  ;D

spoke to my mate about it and forgot they did this for napoli, basically whoever was due to attend instead gave their details over and not who the actual card/seasie belonged to, not sure what the club will do this time though

They never checked anything on the turnstiles, though, IIRC.*

Liverpool Football Club have released the following information for fans travelling to Italy for the Europa League fixture with Udinese on December 6.

Passports and visa

No visa is required for travel from UK on a British passport.

Remember your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) but also take out travel insurance, even if you are only going for one night - it could save you a lot of money if you get into difficulties.

In Italy it is obligatory to carry an ID document at all times.  You will need your passport for entry into the stadium for ticket identification purposes.

Be careful not to lose your passport as you will need to travel to Milan for an emergency travel document.  Please be aware the day following the match (07/12/2012) is a public holiday in Milan (NOT the rest of Italy), which is then followed by the weekend.  If you lose your passport at the match you will, therefore, be unable to obtain an emergency travel document until the following Monday, December 10.

Getting to the stadium

Bus tickets cost 1.10 Euro and are obtainable at newsagents, certain bars and automatic machines outside the railway station. They must be franked in the machine when you board the bus. The ticket is valid for 60 minutes in case you need to change bus or the duration of the single trip.

The local transport website can be found at  www.saf.ud.it.

When travelling to the stadium, there are buses (the home club have indicated they will mark the coaches up with 'LFC Supporters only') from opposite the railway station that go to the stadium direct and take from 20 to 30 minutes.

Buses will be running post-match from the stadium back to Udine railway station, which is a free service

At the match

Large amounts of coins and belts with big buckles, plus heavy cigarette lights are not permitted into the stadium. Supporters should consult their club regarding banners/flags.

Visiting fans are requested to arrive at the stadium in good time as entry/security procedures may take some time to complete. At the end of the game they will be asked to remain in the stadium to allow the home supporters' area to be cleared.

Italian government has a zero tolerance policy regarding acts of hooliganism both inside and outside the stadiums.

The link for Udinese's official website is www.udinese.it.

Tips

Beware of pickpockets and bag snatchers at airports, railway station (Stazione Ferroviaria), around the town centre and when using public transport. Only carry what you need, leave spare cash and valuables in hotel safety deposits.

If travelling in a car, remember to always lock the vehicle and never leave valuables inside. Hire cars and foreign registered vehicles are more of a target.

Relevant British Embassy/Consulate address and telephone numbers

British Consulate - General Milan, Via San Paolo, 7, 20121 - Milan. Tel: +39 06 42202432. www.ukinitaly.fco.gov.uk.

Emergency services numbers

Police (carabinieri): 112
Ambulance: 118
Fire brigade: 115

Other useful contacts/information

Udine tourist website: www.turimofvg.it.

Nearest airports: Venice Marco Polo www.veniceairport.it. Trieste Ronchi dei Legionairi.  Udine is 40km from airport on motorway A4 - A23.

Alternatively, use the public bus APT No. 51 - www.Autostazionediudine.it.

Trains from Venice to Udine - approximately 2 hours.

Trains from Trieste to Udine - approximately  1 and a half hours - www.trenitalia.com.

Radio taxi in Udine: +39 0432 505858 / info@taxiudine.it.

Further information

Udine railway station will have buses outside to take supporters to the stadium, which takes approximately 20 minutes.

It is important when arriving at the Friuli stadium that you do carry your passport or a full colour copy.

The last train from the station back to Venice is 10.07pm.

The Liverpool section is accessed by turnstiles which are numbers 15 and 16.

Stewarding at the stadium will be private security supported by the police. Ticket checks and searching will be undertaken by the security/stewards and supported by the police.

All match tickets will be subject to access control readers and it has been indicated that the police may ask for your passport for inspection.

The police have confirmed any supporters arriving at the stadium drunk will be refused entry and in some cases could lead to arrest.

The section of the stadium Liverpool fans will be located is the old part of the stadium with limited welfare.

After passing through the turnstiles, you go into an outer ground floor, open concourse, which is served by two catering units and two gents toilet blocks of a good standard and one small ladies toilet block.

The stand is old with an external concourse only, with poor lighting. The floor surfaces are safe and the seated terraces are served by external concrete stairs.

The seated terrace is in reasonable condition, but there is no roof on this stand so Liverpool fans will be exposed to all weather conditions.

With this game being played in December, it is likely to be very cold and could have snow or rain.  Please ensure you dress with warm and waterproof clothing.

The seats are a fixed plastic bucket seat.

The home club have indicated that they will provide some external English signage at the Liverpool section.

Segregation is provided by side metal fence 1.8m high with infill polyflex sheets. There is also a moat in front of all stands with a fence line which does have some obstructed views.

Wheelchair disabled fans will be housed in the side of the main stand with wheelchair users in the home section. The platform is raised and a good standard with PA seats behind.  There are limited welfare facilities and two toilet units only.

All banners and flags will be inspected before they are allowed in.

There is medical provision located near the Liverpool section. If you need these services see the nearest steward.

It is intended to take some LFC travel stewards to this game to work outside the turnstiles to help our supporters on entry and to provide good advice when necessary.  LFC stewards have no role or control in running the stadium but they are there for support only.

Additional information from Away Game Supporters' Committee representative, Les Wright ( away-game-supporters@liverpoolfc.com)

Suggested bars:

The Black Stuff: Irish pub via Gorghi 3 - approx 10 mins walk from train station. http://www.theblackstuff.it/.

Birrifico (BIRE): Via Antonio Caccia 5 - very large bar 20 mins walk from train station and 10 minutes from 'The Black Stuff'. http://www.bire.it/.

Old Pub: Viale Volontari della liberta 12. A traditional pub, rather than a bar, see photo gallery.  This pub is 450 metres from BIRE.

Had a look in the Napoli thread, looks like it was similar then - the date of birth had to be provided for the fans who were actually going, although there isn't the same "you have to buy a ticket on your own fancard" theme.

After Fiorentina a few years ago I went to the San Siro to see Milan the next night, (0-1 Zurich), and the tickets in the home end we bought were printed with our names on them outside the ground, I've done three aways in Italy and am yet to be asked to prove my name is on the ticket for any of the away ends I've been in.  My assumption is this will be similar - once you're in the away 'zone' the police will escort you into the ground and so on.

There's also the possibility that LFC will do what they did for Napoli - the law I think is that they have to give the info to the police as to who is traveling, but the club was happy to let you give your details for somebody else's card if you were using that.

Either way, not too worried about this.
For some reason they only check the home supporters when you go to a game in Italy, at least that is my experiance. I think it´s to stop the away fans getting into the home end.
At last the TRUTH 26th April 2016

Still don't buy the s*n.

Would it be possible to pick the tickets up in Udine as I will be flying from Sweden and dont really trust the post. Otherwise I guess me friends from Liverpool would be able to pick them up at the TO and bring them.
