Rodgers is a great bloke. Anyone talking shit about him on a personal level can shit off.
Can't emphasise this enough. He's represented this club admirably. Wish him nothing but the best.

Since 1998 Liverpool Football club have had what will be now, 7 managers in 17 years. Yes, let that sink in for moment  -7 managers in 17 years - Its the form of an 1980's Man United or Tottenham Hotspur.

I await "such and such a manager" sacked thread, in 3 years time.

The club now looks a fuckin mess.

Er, what?

I honestly can't believe that anyone who supports Liverpool didn't want him to go.  It boggles the mind.

Wow very unexpected to be honest but we have to be ruthless. There's a big opportunity for us to claw our way back into the top 4 can't waste our time pissing around. Thanks for 13/14 Brendan and it's never nice to see someone sacked but we move on.

Think he'll be at Newcastle soon.

Yeah same here, he's not a winner.

Didn't someone say that Ancelotti is a finisher....kinda completes clubs that have already built the foundations?

Looked pretty calm out there today. He knew.

Thanks for 2013-14, Brendan. Change was needed for both parties. Good move by the Club. And good luck in the future for Rodgers, of course.

Will always remember him for the 2013-2014, that was some of the best football I have ever witnessed. However I think this is the correct decision, good luck in the future Brendan.

Doesn't sit right with me either.

Ancelotti is as classy a manager that you will find. However, he has been used to working with top squads. That's the only strike against him.

Can't go wrong with Ancelotti. Just hope his health holds up (he has some weird nerve thing making him lose feeling in his hands iirc)

Klopp feels like the most entertaining choice but perhaps slightly more risky.

Would prefer Klopp simply because he's more entertaining and plays fun football. Not a fan of Ancelottis eyebrow either haha

I personally give Rodgers full credit for 2013/14. He created a great side. But in football that seems a long time ago. #LFC

Carragher makes a good point for Klopp.

Ancelloti is a phenomenal manager but the nagging doubt is he had alot of financial support after he left Milan.

Totally agree with the Ancelloti call. Great man to drive a Rolls Royce. We ain't no Rolls Royce.

Thanks for the 13/14 memories, superb season.

For many reasons, we were unable to build on that time. Players leaving and relatively poor replacements. More than Rodgers is likely to 'blame' for the lack of ability to build on that season.

But he had to go. I was willing him to come good, but it had to happen.

You would hope that we have our replacement lined up, but time will tell. Klopp is of course the ideal candidate. And it feels like it needs to be of that calibre.

Getting in another 'unproven' manager would not be fair to anyone.

You could see from the body language on the bench that something was going on. Gary Mac in particular looked at some points in that game like he was in a heated discussion with Brendan, very notable when Lucas came off also. Think he's obviously caretaker till we find someone, that's unless it doesn't stretch beyond the International break.

I'd like to see the owners now wipe the slate clean. Instal their OWN people in the club at a high level and choose the RIGHT manager based on common sense not advice from former players, commercial directors etc who have their own agenda's.....

If Rodgers goes there, he's stupid. He could get better offers. And I think he should wait a little, think things though, before he goes back to work. No need to rush.
He should take a few moths out, recharge his batteries and go abroad..
