What a difference a year makes. Don't think there is any argument now, these players are not playing for Rodgers. It was a nasty suspicion since the Manc game, and for me, utterly confirmed today.

A disaster of a season which can only be solved by change.

And that's that. So long Stevie, it has been, without a doubt, an honour and a pleasure watching him play in a red shirt, and pointing him out to young players and telling them to follow his example, because he was one fantastic player.

Very sad that Rodgers will probably have to leave now for sure, but change is inevitable in football. As one old hand departs, maybe a new hand will arrive and reignite the excitement we had for football last season.

But FSG have to splash the cash on goalscorers. If we don't have those, it'll be hard to do anything different than this season, again.

We could all do with a rest and a cuppa, I think, whatever side of the Rodgers/Gerrard/FSG divide you sit on.

Here, here, mate. Time to rest before the circus begins....

Bleak

Theres nothing and now way to excuse that.

We cant lose 6-1 to Stoke City Im afraid. Thats completely unacceptable
My feelings too.

you should not be losing to Stoke 6-1.

You could have shortened it to just the above for any PL side.

Shocking to think that it is more than the 5 we scored against them in the same fixture last season.  :o

They definitely don't buy into his philosophy or tactics
They really aren't playing for him

We finished 6 so we under performed
how come gerrard came out in praise of brendan recently?is stevie braindead?no,he sees the vision and ability of brendan, obviously today was disgraceful but surely stevies comments deserve to be treated with respect and we should consider his comments b4 we call for rodgers head.

Yeah, and where would we play it (if we were interested)...with Anfield off-limits due to construction work until late August ?

Thanks for everything Stevie, glad he finished with a goal at least.

Very difficult to see the manager surviving after that, the energy and intensity that was our hallmark last season just isn't there.

Very difficult to comprehend some of the defending that went on but ultimately the manager must take the majority of the blame, playing Can at RB when we have
Manquillo waiting for a game despite him struggling there for weeks is just bemusing and it came back to bite him today with Can responsible for at least 3 of the goals.

Im a fan of Rodgers but the way we've ended the season is very worrying and its difficult to see him getting the players back, you can see clearly the players still giving their all and you can count them on one hand.

It's one thing to take a moneybag approach - but for that to work you need to have a belief that the club is going somewhere, so that the younger/cheaper players want to stay and play well so that the club can sell them when they are at maximum market value.

today the players didn't want to play well, and a young talisman wants to leave .....
Goodbye & thank you Rafa. You've given us more than we ever had a right to expect from you and you stayed loyal and fought for us even when some of our own turned on you. I truly hope that you find somewhere with the support that you deserve & win everything in sight.

8 points from the last 9 games. Relegation fodder.

This is the scariest stat. I am having flashbacks to the days under the owl. Things have to change. I really am too upset to say anything else, the Captain deserved better than that. An utter disgrace.

.... Rodgers/Gerrard vs FSG/and big parts of the squad divide you sit on.

The things is that there WAS a divide and this is the result.

One thing does need to be said: in the post-Benitez era, there was media-led clamour (but also some politicking going on at the club) to make the club more English; the idea being that the club had lost the very essence of what it means to be ‘Liverpool’. Guillem Ballague 18/11/10

I think Rodgers is totally out of ideas. His players have no idea what they're supposed to do anymore. I think on the back of the last 9 games, he might be a goner.
Quote from: Dion Fanning

The chants for Kenny Dalglish that were heard again on Wednesday do not necessarily mean that the fans see him as the saviour. This is not Newcastle, longing for the return of Kevin Keegan. Simply, Dalglish represents everything Hodgson is not and, in fairness, everything Hodgson could or would not hope to be.

Damn that Transfer Committee playing Can RB and ostracising Manquillo from the squad.

Hopefully this means the club realise Brendan isn't the man to take us forward and we're spared a year of Benteke/ings

FSG need to make an offer to Klopp that he cannot refuse. Financially, in terms of vision of the 'project', sell the club and give him the dollars he needs to make signings that he needs.

And contact Ancelloti too. Time for firm action and decisions. No drifting or deliberation.

Never thought i'd see the day when LFC were 5 down at half time or concede 6 in a league game.
Hard to see a way back for Brendan after today.  Awful, shambolic performance.

With 3 or 4 quality managers available this summer FSG have surely got their finger on the trigger.

Been behind BR but something drastic needs to happen to ensure next season doesn't end up the same or even worse than this.
